As first reported by Bodyslam.net and now F4WOnline, Michael Elgin (real name Aaron Frobel) has reportedly been arrested in Japan last weekend for stealing protein powder.

The reports also note that he has been in jail since his arrest. If convicted, Elgin could face up to five years in jail. Elgin was on tour with Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he was one half of the GHC Tag Team Champions with Masa Kitamiya.

The report also notes that on July 9, NOAH announced Elgin was unable to compete at an upcoming show in Shizuoka. On July 12, it was then announced by NOAH that Elgin would also miss the Budokan Hall show on July 16 and the titles were vacated as a result of him not being able to appear. Timothy Thatcher and Hideki Suzuki ended up winning the titles, by defeating Kitamiya and Yoshiki Inamura.

Prior to returning to NOAH this past April. Elgin has wrestled sporadically since 2020 after the Speaking Out allegations made against him. He has previously wrestled for ROH, NJPW, and IMPACT Wrestling.

Last July Elgin was arrested just days after he was reported missing on Facebook, but was later said to be found safe. His ex-fiance filed the protection order on May 21 after leaving her home in April due to safety concerns. It was said that she was “being abused physically, mentally, verbally, and emotionally” by Elgin. He had violated the order over sixty times, and has used suicide as a manipulation tactic.
