According to Adam Cailler of the Daily Star, the Wrestling Entertainment Series has only sold less than 350 tickets. WES’ debut event is scheduled to be held at the the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England which can hold up to 10,000 fans.
The promotion’s debut event was set to take place on June 4 and then was postponed and rescheduled to this Saturday, July 9.
“Just been told that this re-arranged show, which still has people advertised on the poster who aren’t coming, and is being held at the 10,000 seater Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham has sold *drum roll*… LESS THAN 350 tickets.”
This past Saturday, IMPACT color commentator Matthew Rehewoldt said on Twitter that he has been “completely ghosted” by the WES.
Back on June 2, not long after WES announced their debut show was postponed and rescheduled, several talent that were originally scheduled for the show, said that they were no longer going to appear.
Wrestling Entertainment Series is founded by Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani, (formerly known as Akam and Rezar of The Authors of Pain in WWE).
As of this report, Jonathan Coachman and IMPACT play-by-play announcer Tom Hannifan are still scheduled for the show, which is can be ordered through FITE TV.
