According to a report from Raj Giri, WWE has released Sasha Banks. Giri said he does not know whether this was a company decision or done at the request of Banks.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp indicated that he spoke with Giri and asked WWE about this. As of Wednesday night, those who in WWE Sapp spoke with said that they had not heard Banks had been released. Sapp also said that talent relations did not seem to know either.
Banks and Naomi were indefinitely suspended by WWE on May 20 after they walked out on the May 16 episode of WWE Raw. According to the statement from WWE, “they walked into WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis’ office with their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team championship belts on his desk, and walked out.”
Banks was advertised to compete in a six-pack challenge on the episode against Naomi, Nikki ASH, Doudrop, Becky Lynch, and Asuka. The match was changed to Lynch vs. Asuka with WWE commentary team referencing the walkout, with Corey Graves calling Banks and Naomi “unprofessional” and saying they “disappointed the WWE Universe.”
