Several talent booked for the debut show for the new Wrestling Entertainment Series, now have taken to Twitter to say they will now not make the show.
The show was set to premiere at Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England on Saturday, June 4th. The venue announced on Twitter that the organizers decided to postpone the show until Saturday, July 9. There has been no specific reason given for the push back.
It was noted that all tickets purchased remain valid for the new date.
The promotion is founded by Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani, (formerly known as Akam and Rezar of The Authors of Pain in WWE).
Fightful Select is reporting they were told the event date. Fightful also said there is talent that are upset about this and even more so about potential pay issues, saying they would paid “to a certain extent.”
WES is claiming the reason for the debut event being moved is due to the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations taking place this weekend, which is affecting ticket sales. However, it should be noted PROGRESS is running their Strong Style show this weekend in London, with no issues of ticket sales reported.
