WWE has announced the first official match for WrestleMania Backlash, which takes place next month.
Ronda Rousey will challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in an “I Quit” Match at the event.
Flair retained WWE SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38 Night One. A ref bump was part of the finish for Flair to get the win.
During Friday night’s WWE SmackDown on FOX, Rousey challenged Flair to the “I Quit” match at WrestleMania Backlash. However, Charlotte said no and told Rousey to get to the back of the line. Adam Pearce then said later in the show a decision would be made by Saturday.
During Saturday’s episode of Talking Smack, Kayla Braxton told Flair the match was on for WrestleMania Backlash. Flair told Braxton it isn’t in her DNA, and vowed to make Rousey say “I Quit” at the event.
WWE WrestleMania Backlash will be held at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, on Sunday, May 8.
