During the opening the opening match at tonight’s Night One of WrestleMania 38, Rick Boogs apparently suffered a knee injury. Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura challenged the Usos for the SmackDon Tag Team Championships.

The match appeared to end a bit early after Boogs suffered the injury. There was a moment in the match where Boogs had Jey Uso on his shoulders, and then tried to add Jimmy Uso for a double Fireman’s Carry. However, as soon as Jimmy jumped up onto Boogs’ shoulders, Boogs’ knee gave out, and then he went down to mat with The Usos.

After the spot, Boogs immediately rolled to the floor and spent the rest of the match getting checked out by trainers. The Usos then worked over Nakamura for a few more minutes and hit their finishing move, the 1D to retain the championships.

After the match ended, Nakamura joined Boogs at ringside while The Usos made their exit. Boogs had his knee wrapped up, as the trainers helped him make his way to the backstage area.

As of this report, there is no word on how serious Boogs’ injury is. Michael Cole noted on commentary they hope to have an update sometime later.
