Pro Wrestling Star Secures Leg for Georgia Girl
(Greensboro, GA) – Pro Wrestling Superstar and Gold Metal Shot Putter “The Freak” Steve Chamberland knows a little about the challenges of having just one leg. Now he’s helped a 9-year-old Georgia girl cope with the same dilemma, securing for her a free prosthetic limb.
Chamberland will be appearing along with wrestling superstar X Pac and WWE Hall of Fame manager Jimmy Hart at the Grand Opening of the new Langdon Athletics location in Greensboro on Saturday, April 23 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. And at the event, he will help present the leg to a very brave girl.
Chamberland worked in concert with Mark Logue, CPO of Clearwater Brace and Limb, to secure a prosthetic leg for 9-year-old Anaiah Rucker. The Georgia girl lost her leg and a kidney as she saved her five-year-old sister from being hit by a car.
Anaiah was featured on the “Today” show for her bravery. The Freak will be among those presenting Anaiah with the leg as she gets a hero’s reception at the Grand Opening.
The Freak is a gold medal-winning shot putter and pro wrestler, despite his disadvantage of being one-legged.
“I know what she’s going through and the obstacles it presents… it’s hard enough for an adult, but for a child its worse” says Chamberland “but I know with the love and support of her family and community, she will be able to live a fantastic life and I’m glad I could help her obtain that prosthetic leg” he adds.
It was also announced that 10 percent of all profits taken in during the Langdon Athletics Grand Opening will be donated to the Amputee Coalition of America.
