On March 17, the wrestling world suffered yet another death as 24-year old Warrior Jr. passed away for reasons that have not yet been confirmed.
Warrior was heartbreakingly young and a member of one of the largest lucha families in Mexico. His father is longtime CMLL star Black Warrior – the heated rival of Mistico for many years – and his grandfather was Mano Negra. His great grandfather wrestled as El Rebelde in the 1950s and 60s, too. His lucha familia did not stop there as his aunt is longtime CMLL luchadora Sanely and his uncle is the legendary Blue Panther. Panther’s sons Blue Panther Jr. and Dark Panther are also his cousins.
Warrior was also married to Omii Casas, the daughter of the legendary Negro Casas making Warrior also a part of the famed Casas Family. He and his wife promoted shows under the RO Wrestling banner in the State of Mexico (Estado de Mexico). Warrior and his wife recently had their second child, as well.
In 2021, Warrior Jr. began training in CMLL’s school and working on CMLL cards, as well. His last known appearance was in August and then he stopped promoting shows and his last Instagram post was also in August. While the family has made no comment on the cause of death, YouTube host Miguel Fonseca reported that Warrior suffered a spinal injury that was ultimately the cause of his death. That obviously has not been confirmed by CMLL or anyone else in the lucha world, however.
Negro Casas made his scheduled appearance for CMLL in Arena Mexico in March 18 and according to SuperLuchas, the legend dedicated his match with Templario to Warrior’s memory.
RIP to Warrior Jr. and WrestleView sends our condolences to his family, friends and fans.
