WWE Smackdown for April 15, 2011:
* The show opens with Alberto Del Rio who demands to be given the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Teddy Long announces a 20 Man Battle Royal for tonight with the winner facing Del Rio at Extreme Rules in a Ladder match to determine the new champion.
* Ezekiel Jackson def. Kofi Kingston.
* Pretape segment was shown of Laycool at couple’s therapy.
* Cody Rhodes promo segment that ends with Rey Mysterio giving him a 619.
* Rey Mysterio def. Drew McIntyre.
* Edge came out giving up his WWE World Heavyweight Championship and discussing his retirement. According to reports, his mom was in the crowd.
* Kelly Kelly def. Layla.
* Christian won the 20 Man Battle Royal to earn the shot to face Alberto Del Rio at Extreme Rules in a Ladder match to determine a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
* After the taping, they held a tribute to Edge where everyone came out from backstage. Edge and Christian did the five second pose routine. Triple H also joined everyone. Edge spoke again thanking everyone who works for WWE and added he would probably be back on TV at some point, but wanted to go home to be with his dogs for now.
