BEST OF THE BEST SHOW UPDATE ? THIS FRI 15TH AT PANTHERS PENRITH
AWF would like to inform a few last minute changes to the big Panthers event this Friday 15th Jan. Tickets are still available, but please get in fast to avoid missing out. Please tell and bring your friends and lets make this a packed house like our last 2 AWF events.
Queensland’s Obie Cartel Out
Firstly the Best of the Best 4 man tournament will change slightly as Qld’s Obie Cartel will be unable to compete due to illness. Obie sent word that he is extremely dissatisfied with the situation but under doctors orders is unable to compete.
TNT Returns to the Ring
With Obie Cartel out of the tournament AWF looked for a huge replacement. After some talks and consideration, TNT has agreed to make his return to Sydney rings for this special event. It will mark the first time he has wrestled in Sydney since his AWF Title win against Il Cognito at PsychoticSlam in April. Despite his shoulder injury still not being at 100 percent, the former 4 time AWF Champion says he wants to test it against the best in the land and could not miss this opportunity to do so. He looks forward to being at Panthers and meeting all the good supporters of the AWF.
New Tournament Bracketing
So with the changes to the field, come the changes to the bracketing.
The returning TNT will face the stiff challenge of Victoria’s Krackerjack in a battle of two of Australia’s most well known and best wrestlers.
On the other side of the bracket, former AWF Champion and aerial and submission specialist Mark Hilton, will face the power and super conditioning of Blakestone in a first time meeting.
The winners of each of these titanic battles will meet in the final later in the evening. All three of these bouts would be main event anywhere in Australia, so be sure to be there live to see these epic AWF encounters to see who wants to be Best of the Best.
Australasian Championship Decider
After a 6 month process to find a new Australasian Champion, the stage has been set and it will see AWF’s Most Popular Wrestler of 2009 Iron Jay Coles take on AWF’s Most Hated, Massive Q in the biggest bout of their respective careers. Iron Jay has been training harder than ever in preparation for the bout, and says his cardio and speed will outdo the 165 kg Freak Q. Massive Q says Iron Jay will be like all others he has faced recently, and he will end up as road kill that he will cook and eat. Q says he has a very special surprise for Iron Jay lined up for Panthers, and he will walk away with the Gold and return it to the Freakshow where he says it belongs. This will be a bout for the ages.
Elsewhere on the Card
– Due to Visa problems Iron Bone of Africa will not be able to attend best of the Best for his Commonwealth Championship bout against Powerhouse Theo. After this news broke, AWF reviewed Theo’s Championship defences and looked at who his closest battle was with in 2009. After much diligence, it was determined that it was his 12 Sept Parramatta bout versus Spaceboy Dacey that was his closest, and in being so Spaceboy will receive a rematch. Fans saw last time that this bout could go either way. Mighty Mel and possibly Bombshell will be in each mans corner. Be at Panthers to see who?ll come out on top.
– In other Championship action WA’s Jarred Slate says he is coming to take the Young Lion’s Championship from the popular champion ?Mint Condition? Mick Moretti in what promises to be a fast paced and exciting bout, and the AWF Tag Titles will be on the line as The Cornershop Connection will face the islander team of Tama Williams & the popular Samoan Warrior.
