As CM Punk is making his entrance, to a gigantic ovation, MJF’s music interrupts his entrance and he comes out to an “asshole” chant. MJF calls Punk “Punky Brewster” and says it doesn’t feel good to be interrupted does it as the fans chant “shut the f*ck up” at him and MJF simply says, “no.” MJF says that Punk hurt his feelings last week by turning down his handshake. He says it was almost as bad as the time Punk quit, took his ball and went home like a little bitch. MJF says that Punk’s “pipe bomb” promo was Punk’s best moment but every MJF moment is the best MJF moment. He says unlike Punk, he isn’t a one trick pony.
MJF says he respects Punk and everything he’s done and even that he’s straight edge but says he never thought someone that was straight edge would look so much like a meth addict. MJF says if he had Punk’s face he would need to down 8 shots of liquor just to look in the mirror. MJF says that he noticed that everytime some one would ask him who he wanted to face he would never mention him and that’s because he “didn’t want none” from him. MJF says he’s going to verbally finish him quicker than his UFC career. He says that he doesn’t drop pipe bombs, he drops nukes.
Punk says he is disappointed in MJF and then says he’s glad that Maxwell introduced himself to him last week because he never knew his name was Maxwell. He says that he thought his name was “My Jealous Fan.” Punk says he never mentioned MJF by design because he never wanted to feed his ego. He says that he’s in MJF’s head and that probably has to do with the fact that there is a poster of Punk on Maxwell’s wall. Punk says he heard so much about the great MJF yet last week he did what no one else has been able to do, he shut up MJF without saying a word. He says MJF had a whole week to think of good zingers and all he could come out with was the lowest hanging fruit.
Punk says MJF thinks he’s revolutionary but in reality he’s just a less famous Miz. MJF says that Punk is nothing more than a drug of nostalgia. He says he was a fan of Punk because he thought he was the best, but ever since he returned Punk’s struggled to beat anyone and struggled to have anything of interest to say. He says Punk’s breath smells like shit because of all the ass he’s been kissing.
MJF mocks all the “happy” promos Punk has been doing and says that he’s gone soft. He says by the look of his eyes, the only person that needs to go to sleep is Punk. He says that he’s become PG Punk and asks where the old Punk has gone and says he might as well be out here preaching “hustle, loyalty and respect.” MJF taunts Punk about everything he’s done since leaving wrestling and says that the truth is that Punk was terrified and was scared he couldn’t hang (in wrestling) anymore.
MJF tells Punk he should be scared because in the other company everyone loved him because they all thought he was being held down. Now, he has every opportunity to prove them right but he can’t do that. MJF says that Punk doesn’t like him because he represents everything about wrestling that Punk hates. He says he was made for this business, while Punk was a scrawny misfit that had to work his tail off. He says what eats Punk up is that after everything, all his work, his entire career he’s never been more than second best. He says whether it was the “you can’t see me guy” or the “King of Kings” he was just never up to snuff. He says that now that he is in MJF’s company things will be no different. “You may claim to be the best in the world but I’m better than you and you know it,” MJF says.
Punk says he may have been scared before he came back but he isn’t anymore and he definitely wasn’t scared of MJF. Punk says that he was selling out MSG while MJF was hanging out with Rosie O’Donnell. Punk mocks MJF for making the New York Times because of his show tunes dance last year. He says he’ll wind up in NYT again but this time it will be in the Obituaries. Punk says that it just kills MJF that he came to AEW and wanted to face the heart and soul of the company and that was Darby Allin, not MJF. Punk says that MJF talks about being one of the four pillars of AEW but he doesn’t even realize he’s been replaced by Britt Baker. Punk says that MJF talks too much and they’ve wasted enough time, he says that Chicago is called the “Second City” because once it was burned to the ground it was just built right back on top of the smoldering embers. He says he’ll wear that “No. 2” like a badge of honor. He says that the only way MJF will ever become No. 1 is if he is around long enough for Tony Khan to have a daughter for him to marry. Punk says last time he was in Chicago he gave the fans ice cream bars and the only thing he can think of that is better than that is punching MJF in his needle dick. MJF retreats, however.
(That was unbelievable. It was easily the best dueling promo in the history of AEW. They both threw out zinger after zinger and laid the groundwork and basis for the feud. Just terrific stuff, Punk is really starting to hit his stride and I think MJF is only going to pull more of that out.)

They lockup and then take each other to the ground and continue to brawl there. Hayter chokes Rosa on the ropes and smacks her across the face. Rosa smacks the absolute piss out of Hayter back but then Hayter tosses her to the floor where she tries to whip her into the barricade only for Rosa to reverse it. Rosa slams Hayter into the apron but Hayter runs her into the apron and chops her before slamming her into the barricade.

Rebel gets on the apron and distracts the referee as Baker breaks up the submission. Baker tries to Superkick Rosa but she moves and Baker nails Hayter! Rosa slams Baker into Rebel and then rolls Hayter up with a Cazadora for the pin!
Winner: Rosa via pinfall
(That was a really great, hard hitting match. Hayter and Rosa are two of the better workers in the women’s division. ***)
Backstage, Chris Jericho tries to cut a promo when 2.0 and Daniel Garcia walk into frame bragging about beating Kingston down. Jericho says that Kingston is going to beat the shit out of them and then mocks the way they look. Jericho says if they ever interrupt him again he’ll knock their teeth down their throats.

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. Colt Cabana w/The Dark Order
Cabana and Danielson go way back to their Ring of Honor days. They also shot a documentary called “Wrestling Road Diaries” during the last few weeks of Danielson’s Indy run before he signed with WWE, which was excellent. Danielson and Cabana break out some chain wrestling that I haven’t seen from Cabana in quite awhile. Danielson immediately goes for a Cross Armbreaker but Cabana grabs the ropes. Danielson takes Cabana down to the mat but Cabana counters with a double wristlock of his own.

Danielson goes for a Super Back Suplex but Cabana fights him off and knocks Danielson to the mat. Cabana hits a Moonsault Press! 1…2…NO Danielson kicks out! Cabana hits a series of Shortarm Elbows but Danielson ducks the last one and then takes Cabana down and just stomps his face repeatedly before putting him in the LeBell Lock! Cabana taps.
Winner: Danielson via submission (LeBell Lock)
(A short but really fun match from these two. Cabana and Danielson have faced each other so many times they could probably have a good match in their sleep. Given a few more minutes it could have been really good. ***)
Danielson pointed to something on the mat that looked like either a tooth or fingernail.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Schiavone interviews Danielson in the ring and he says he got a much different reaction when he debuted in Chicago last time. Danielson asks if it’s because of him or is it because of the fans. He calls the fans “fickle” and says he isn’t fickle. He says he told everyone he would kick Cabana’s head in and he did just that and then holds Cabana’s tooth and says he knocked his teeth out, too.
Danielson says that he heard some of Dark Order’s members are from Atlanta and he invites any of them to face him and he’ll kick their heads in too. Danielson says that all leads to Hangman Page and Page makes his way to the ring in his gear.
Page says Danielson made his point but says that is the last member of Dark Order he’ll do that to. Page says this city holds a special place in his heart and he can’t think of a better place or time to defend the title than right here and right now. Danielson says that of course Page would do that after he already wrestled. Danielson says that isn’t Cowboy shit, it’s coward shit.
Page says that if he doesn’t want to do the match tonight, that’s fine but he isn’t leaving Chicago without a fight. He says he’ll even give Danielson the first shot but Danielson tells him not to insult him and he slaps Page. They start scrapping! Page kicks Danielson and goes for the Buckshot Lariat but Danielson bails out of the ring.
A video package hypes up Ruby Soho vs. Kris Statlander.
