2/13- CWE Presents Commencement of War March 4th!

After a standing room only unforgettable 2 Year Anniversary show Canadian Wrestling’s Elite returns on March 4th at the Maples Community Center with WWE Legend and the Greatest Intercontinental champion of all-time The Honky Tonk Man!

Moving back to the venue where it all started for CWE an action packed night is scheduled after some shocking developments and outcomes on Feb 4th in Winnipeg. The invading Alliance of Defiance continued to dominate in CWE by acquiring the CWE Tag Team titles, the introduction of the controversial Lacey, and the CWE champion Mentallo. The Alliance of Defiance’s dominance is at an all time high which is causing explosions in and out of the CWE locker room. The AOD vs. CWE was at first a battle but has now commenced into an all out war! If you thought things were hot Feb 4th things are going to heat up that much more on Friday, March 4th!

Main event announced!

CWE Title Match
CWE Champion Mentallo vs. ROH & NJPW Superstar Kenny Omega

Just when you think CWE can’t deliver any bigger of a main event it comes back with the one match that has been requested more than any other since Omega’s arrival in CWE a year a go. 9 years ago the weekend of March 4th a young Kenny Omega and Mentallo wrestled in one of the greatest matches in Manitoba wrestling history, a match that officially put them on the map as big time players, and launched them both into positions that lead to international fame.

Fast forward 9 years and these 2 have gone from Winnipeg wrestling standouts to bonifide international wrestling superstars. Both have taken different paths but have both ended up becoming cult favorites in Japan. Omega is fresh off perhaps his most successful year to date capturing the New Japan Pro Wrestling Jr. Tag Titles and being awarded match of the year in Japan. Mentallo has established quite the following in the orient and has established himself as the top foreigner in SMASH. These two actually did battle in SMASH in 2010 with Kenny Omega scoring the win. Omega may have won that match to but Mentallo still hasn’t been defeated in CWE.

This dream match for CWE fans has a new twist as Mentallo turned his back on his CWE fans and peers in his title defense against Danny Duggan Feb 4th by joining the hated Alliance of Defiance. The super successful Mentallo has a new found chip on his shoulder and a new group of running buddies. Omega who is arguably the most successful Winnipeg wrestler of the past decade looks to not only add another title to his resume but avenge his tag team partner Danny Duggan who was on the receiving end of Mentallo and the AOD’s attack. Since joining CWE a year ago Kenny Omega has yet to be pinned in a CWE ring either which makes for one intense anticipated match on March 4th!

6 Months in the Making!
“The Hired Gun” Antonio Scorpio Jr. w/”Canadian Loose Cannon” TJ Bratt vs. The Returning Zack Mercury

Back in September Antonio Scorpio Jr. made a very strong first impression with the CWE audience without even being seen. Before an important match for Mercury against Team Impact, TJ Bratt hired the ultra violent Scorpio Jr. to assault Zack Mercury backstage. The beating was so severe CWE officials were under the impression Mercury would never step foot in a CWE ring again. Much to the surprise of everyone “The Mercatronic” returned Feb 4th to let Antonio Scorpio Jr. know you can’t keep a good man down and that Z-Merc was coming for revenge and to do what Scorpio did to him, rid him of CWE. Although very confident words from the angry Mercury it will be no easy task as Scorpio has been an unbeatable monster since coming to CWE. Nearly everyone who has gotten in his way has been sent to the hospital or severely injured. Zack Mercury looks to be the exception to the rule on March 4th!

Stay tuned for matches including WWE Legend The Honky Tonk Man, “Hotshot” Danny Duggan, the new 123Approved.ca Open Rules champion “The Brickhouse” Paul Arcidi, CWE Tag Team champions Team Impact w/Lacey, AJ Sanchez “Pimp Daddy Rick Matthews, “Beautiful” Bobby Jay, “The Enforcer” JP Kaos, JJ Sanchez & “Big” Cliff, Tyler Colton, Tommy Lee Curtis, Kevy Chevy, Billy Blaze and many more!

CZW TWELVE Results; Returns March 12; Best of The Best April 9
CZWrestling.com

CZW “TWELVE: The Twelfth Anniversary Event” on Saturday, February
12 delivered action to a packed Asylum Arena and showed the
Ultraviolence is going strong as CZW begins its thirteenth year and
gears up for Best of The Best X on April 9.

The returning Australian, Ryan Eagles devastated Kit Osborne defeating
his smaller opponent with a brainbuster, followed by a DVD.

TJ Cannon and Bruce Maxwell, The Best Around may have walked out with
a victory over TJ and Kirby Mack of Team Macktion, but at the risk of
Cannon’s in-ring career. During the match, Cannon went for a 450 and
landed on his feet, when his knee buckled. Cannon is being told of a
possible SEVERE injury to his knee. More information as it develops.

Current CZW owner DJ Hyde made his way to the ring to thank the fans
for 12 years of Ultraviolent passion and introduced three more
competitors for this year’s Best of The Best – Jake Crist from
Indiana’s IPW, Kyle O’Reilly from ROH, and PWG’s Brandon Gatson.
Hyde also had some words about a no-showing B-Boy, but was interrupted
by “The Golden Boy” Drake Younger.

Younger demanded to be declared winner over B-Boy by forfeit and named
#1 contender to the CZW World Heavyweight Title. Before DJ Hyde could
respond, Devon Moore entered the fray stating he won Cage of Death and
earned a title shot. The CZW Owner ordered a Younger vs. Moore match
to take place with Ultraviolent Rules!

Younger and Moore destroyed each other in a match that saw plenty of
chairs, a barbwire board, and a glass window pane! In the end, it was
Devon Moore standing victorious over “The Golden Boy”.

After last month’s victory for Sami Callihan’s Best of the Best
spot, this month Alex Colon had to defend his prize against “The New
Horror”. But in Colon’s most impressive match yet, he fell short
and lost his qualifying spot after tapping out to Callihan’s Stretch
Muffler. Afterwards Callihan announced he would represent CZW next
month at wXw’s 12 Carat Gold Tournament in Germany…already winning
The Peterson Cup, he could now win wXw’s 12 Carat and CZW’s Best
of The Best.

Disagreeing over Wired TV champion Drew Gulak’s recent
“display”, Danny Havok challenged Gulak for the title. But Gulak
displayed his technical prowess and caught Havok with a crucifix
rollup for the pin to retain his title.

Akuma has been destroying all comers in CZW. With the mysterious
Kimber Lee in his corner, this time he faced Naptown Dragon, Scotty
Vortekz. These two went toe-to-toe, but when former Dragon, Drake
Younger, interjected himself, it was enough of a distraction for Akuma
to catch Vortekz off guard to earn a victory.

In a six way The Best of The Best qualifier, Rich Swann, A.R. Fox,
Aaron Arbo, Jon Gresham, Ryan McBride, and Ty Hagen tore the house
down, until The Runaways, Joe Gacy and Ryan Slater, jumped the rails
and began destroying everyone. Unexpectedly, the viral sensations, The
Osirian Portal made an appearance, first via video, entrancing the
entire Arena, then made their way to the ring for what would make
their G4 and ESPN appearances look like a warm-up for the dance battle
that occurred. In the midst of it all, Gresham was able to pull out a
victory and earned himself a spot for Best of The Best!

To say Greg Excellent didn’t have kind words for DJ Hyde last month
would be an understatement, causing the CZW owner to set a match
between himself and his employee. But when the bell rung, Excellent
just lied down for Hyde. Excellent ignored Hyde’s attempts to fight
and rolled out of the ring creating a verbal shoot between the two.
Hyde has set an Ultraviolent Rules match between himself and Excellent
for next month and if Excellent tries to walk out, he is fired.

In another Best of The Best qualifier, CZW Junior Heavyweight champion
Adam Cole, believing himself already “Best of The Best in CZW”,
had to face a mystery opponent…in Pinkie Sanchez. After innovative
offense between the two, it was Cole’s beautiful escort, Mia Yim,
with a low blow to Sanchez that allowed Cole to capitalize and qualify
for The Best of The Best.

For the CZW World Heavyweight title, “The Ego” Robert Anthony
challenged champion Jon Moxley. The rivalry exploded between these two
that even the ring couldn’t contain and saw both men pull out all
the stops for the right to wear the gold, in the end, it was a
reversal out of a Vertebreaker for Anthony that gave him the win to
become the NEW CZW World Heavyweight champion.

Last month, CZW World Tag champions Philadelphia’s Most Wanted,
Joker and Sabian and The Briscoe Brothers tore down the house. All
four men battled around the ring and through the crowd using anything
they could get their hands on, including a barbed wire table on the
floor that Sabian was sent through over the top rope…giving The
Briscoe Brothers the victory to be the NEW CZW World Tag Team
champions.

Combat Zone Wrestling returns Saturday, Match 12 to The Asylum Arena
in Philadelphia. Don’t forget CZW’s Best of The Best takes place
Saturday, April 9. Bus trip information from New York and tickets
