WWE Universal Title Match announced for next week’s Friday Night SmackDown

WWE Universal Championship Match set for next week's SmackDown

WWE has announced that Roman Reigns will defend The WWE Universal Championship against Finn Balor on next Friday’s live episode of SmackDown on FOX.

The match was made official after a challenge that was issued by Balor on last night’s show.

In the main event segment of last night’s WWE SmackDown, Reigns and The Usos hosted a family celebration. Balor came out and interrupted them and challenged Reigns to a Universal Championship match next Friday.

Balor said he planned on challenging Reigns to a title match at next month’s Extreme Rules, but said that he does not trust and is not going to wait in line. Balor instead challenged Reigns to a title match for next week’s Friday Night SmackDown.

Before Reigns could give Balor his answer, a brawl broke out with Reigns and The Usos.  The Street Profits came out to help Balor, as they took out The Uso’s to close the show.

Next week’s show will take place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL.
