It’s time once again for your weekly ROH on HDNet recap! So, sit back, relax, open up a brew or a pop, and get ready for your holiday edition of RING OF HONOR WRESTLING!!!! ITS TIME FOR THE 2010 HOLIDAY GAUNTLET MATCH EDITION!!
Here’s how things went down this week:
-Jim Cornette starts off the show explaining the holiday gauntlet match. Cornette says that they put 16 names in a hat and selected 8 wrestlers who will compete for the $10,000 bonus!!
-Hogewood and Prazak welcome us to the show! They also review Final Battle from this past Saturday!
-Video is shown of the recap of Final Battle from last Saturday! I will review the best pay-per-view of the year in my final thoughts!
-Commercial-
-Back from commercial, ROH explains the rules of the gauntlet match! Here are the rules:
*16 names chosen from a bin
*8 names drawn for the match
*1st and 2nd names drawn will begin the match
*When a wrestler wins a fall, he will continue on
*Last remaining wrestler will be declared the winner!
GAUNTLET MATCH RESULTS:

#1 JAY BRISCOE vs. #2 STEVE CORINO
-Steve Corino has been eliminated! Corino attacks Briscoe after his loss!
#1 JAY BRISCOE vs. #3 CHRISTOPHER DANIELS
-Jay Briscoe has been eliminated!
#3 CHRISTOPHER DANIELS vs. #4 “ADDICTED TO LOVE” RHETT TITUS
-Rhett Titus has been eliminated!

#3 CHRISTOPHER DANIELS vs. #5 DAVEY RICHARDS
-Christopher Daniels has been eliminated!
#5 DAVEY RICHARDS vs. #6 CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI
-Claudio Castagnoli has been eliminated!
#5 DAVEY RICHARDS vs. #7 CHRIS HERO
-Chris Hero has been eliminated! After the match, Hero smacks Richards in the back of
the head with the loaded elbow! Shane Hagadorn, Sara Del Rey, and the Kings all get their shots on Richards! The refs come in and clear the ring!
#5 DAVEY RICHARDS vs. #8 ROH WORLD CHAMPION RODERICK STRONG

-Davey Richards stands alone in the middle of ring as the fans chant “AMERICAN WOLVES!” What a great effort from Richards!! ROH comes to a close!
FINAL THOUGHTS
What a great show! Tonight’s show was great in so many ways! However, before I comment on the events that happened this evening, let me give you a quick rundown of the events that transpired at FINAL BATTLE:

-SARA DEL REY & SERENA DEEB def. DAIZE HAZE & AWESOME KONG
-HOMICIDE def. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS

-THE BRISCOE FAMILY def. THE KINGS OF WRESTLING & SHANE HAGADORN
-ROH WORLD CHAMP RODERICK STRONG def. DAVEY RICHARDS
(in my opinion, this is the match of the year! What a great effort from the best wrestler in the world…Davey Richards!!)
-EL GENERICO def. KEVIN STEEN in the Unsanctioned FINAL BATTLE match!! Kevin Steen is out of Ring of Honor!
I had the opportunity to watch Final Battle last Saturday night and it was the best show I have seen in a long time! Davey Richards may have not beat Strong for the title, but his ability, strength, and determination in the ring makes me a huge fan of this guy! Its only a matter of time before he is the ROH World Champion! My friend and I have the honor of seeing Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards in person on 1/1/11 here in Indianapolis! I cannot wait for that! The Steen and Generico match was my favorite of the night! Kevin Steen and Generico put everything they had in the match and it turned out to be one of the most brutal matches I have seen in a long time! I’m happy that Steen is gone, but there will never be a better played out feud like this one! The Final Battle at Final Battle will go down in ROH’s history as a hard fought match by both! My grade for Final Battle: A+!
Now, as far as tonight’s Gauntlet match, it was fantastic! Several times during the match, my money was on Christopher Daniels to win, but as soon as Davey Richards came out, my opinion changed! The list of competitors was great, but the winner should have been Richards, not Strong! That douche bag Martini and Strong will soon have their hands full when Richards gets another shot at the title! So, in closing, Strong won the $10,000, but Richards was the MVP of the Gauntlet match! Great show!
