Late last year, WWE filed a trademark for “Chelsea Green” and is said to be still wanting to keep the name. Green was released by WWE back on April 15.
Several media sources have reported WWE had to supply additional information to the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the trademark, which they did back on August 5, 2020. The letter, that was dated November 2020, included a signed letter of consent from Green. However, at that time, Green was still under contract with WWE.
Green took to Twitter earlier this morning and notes that she never thought that she would be in a legal battle for her birth given name, and will discuss it tomorrow on her podcast.
Back in April following her release from WWE, Green started the process to trademark her birth given (legal) name.
Since her release from WWE, Green has appeared for IMPACT Wrestling and Ring of Honor. She is scheduled to appear at the NWA EmPowerrr PPV coming up on August 28.
