WWE files to trademark the phrase “Austin 3:16” and several NXT UK names

WWE has recently filed to trademark several NXT UK names, as well as one of the most well-known wrestling phrases ever uttered.

On October 1, WWE filed to trademark “Austin 3:16.” WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin first used the phrase in a promo after winning the 1996 King of the Ring. Austin defeated Jake “The Snake” Roberts in the finals and said this in the promo:

“You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn’t get you anywhere. Talk about your psalms, talk about John 3:16… Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!”

The phrase was filed under the following definition:
