Akam and Rezar released
WWE has come to terms on the release of Akam and Rezar (AOP). We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
Akam and Rezar made their NXT debuts in 2016 as The Authors of Pain, managed by WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering. While in NXT, they would hold the NXT Tag Team Championship for 203 days in 2017. During this reign, they would be part of the only Tag Team Championship match to main event an NXT TakeOver to date against Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. They would also take part in the first WarGames Match.
Upon moving to the Raw roster in 2018, they would drop Paul Ellering as their manager. The duo would capture the Raw Tag Team Championship later in the year and were managed by Drake Maverick for a short time.
In late-2019 and early-2020 they were part of Seth Rollins’ faction as his enforcers. An injury to Rezar took them off television and they haven’t seen since.
We will continue to follow this story as more becomes available.
