Stu Bennett, known as Wade Barrett, is currently negotiating a full-time return to WWE as an announcer, according to a new report by PWInsider.
Bennett was brought in as a replacement for Mauro Ranallo, who is reportedly dealing with a family issue in Canada, this past Wednesday on NXT. Bennett also commentated on the Super Tuesday NXT show, which will air tomorrow, September 1.
The report states that these appearances were also a feeling out process for both Bennett and WWE to see if there was any interest in working together in the future. Bennett could potentially become an announcer for NXT UK, which relaunches in September.
Bennett last appeared for WWE as a performer in 2016. Since that time he has worked on his acting career. In December 2019, he was made a commentator for NWA Powerrr.
