A video kicks off the show highlighting the big matches we’re going to see on tonight’s edition of SummerSlam.
We go live into the WWE ThunderDome to see a big pyrotechnics display. We’re kicking off the show with Asuka going for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
SmackDown Women’s Championship
Asuka vs. Bayley (c) w/ Sasha Banks
The bell rings, and they circle the ring. They lock up, and Asuka wrenches the arm. Asuka punches her in the head and hits the ropes. Bayley drops down, but Asuka comes back with a takedown. Asuka kicks away at her. Bayley fights back, but Asuka blocks a kick and takes her down. Asuka goes for an octopus stretch, but Bayley gets a foot on the bottom rope. Bayley gets on the apron, so Asuka hits a baseball slide to the knees. Asuka then hits a hip attack to knock Bayley to the floor. Asuka goes outside, gets on the stairs, and hits a leaping DDT to the floor! Asuka puts her in the ring for a near fall.

Bayley quickly kicks her in the knee to keep her back. Bayley knocks her to the apron and snaps her off the ropes. Bayley goes to the second rope and hits a diving cutter for a near fall. Bayley attacks her and hits a suplex. Bayley applies a chin lock before kicking and taunting her. Asuka kicks back at her, but Bayley cuts off the momentum with an elbow. Asuka fights back, but Bayley surprises her with a Bayley-To-Belly for a near fall.
Asuka elbows her back and rolls her up for a near fall. Asuka ducks a right hand and wipes Bayley out with a kick. Both women are down. Asuka gets to her feet and hits a pair of shoulder tackles. Asuka follows up with a hip attack, knees her in the head, and hits a German Suplex. Asuka connects with another hip attack for a near fall. Bayley gets on the apron to recover, so Asuka follows her out. They exchange punches on the apron before Asuka kicks her. Asuka goes for a hip attack, but Bayley blocks it and slams the knees on the apron.
Bayley gets Asuka in the ring and chop blocks the knee for a near fall. Bayley applies a deathlock, but Asuka rolls over and goes for an ankle lock. Asuka pulls her up for a German Suplex, but Bayley elbows her in the head. Bayley charges, but Asuka hits a double knee facebuster for a near fall. Asuka goes to the apron and climbs to the top rope. Bayley cuts her off, but Asuka knocks her back. Asuka goes for a missile dropkick, but Bayley counters into a knee bar! Asuka shouts in pain and claws to the bottom rope to break the hold. Bayley backs up and hits a sunset flip bomb into the turnbuckles. Bayley goes to the top rope for a diving elbow drop, but Asuka counters into a cross arm breaker! Sasha Banks shouts at Asuka, so Asuka lets go of the submission and kicks her.

Bayley attacks Asuka at ringside. Asuka avoids an attack from Banks. Bayley pulls Asuka into the ring and rolls her up for a near fall. Asuka gets up, but sidesteps Bayley causing her to hit Banks, who was up on the apron. Bayley then catches Asuka with an inside cradle for the win.
Winner by Pinfall and still SmackDown Women’s Champion: Bayley
After the match, Banks immediately attacks Asuka. Banks and Bayley double-team Asuka with a slam before walking off in celebration. Asuka will face Banks later.

Dominik Mysterio is backstage with his father, Rey, and his mother. Dominik kisses his mother on the cheek, and she walks away. Dominik tells his father to let him handle Seth Rollins on his own. It’s time for him to be a man and protect the family. Dominik says he needs Rey’s word that he won’t get involved. Rey says he gives him his word. They embrace.

Raw Tag Team Championship
Angel Garza and Andrade w/ Zelina Vega vs. The Street Profits (c’s)
Andrade will start against Montez Ford. Ford quickly clubs the back, but Andrade punches him back and knees him in the midsection. Andrade chops and sends him into the ropes, but Ford flips over him and takes him down. Andrade goes to the second rope, but Ford leaps up and hits a hurricanrana. Andrade is then clotheslined over the top rope. The Street Profits then hit Garza with a double-team flapjack. Ford goes for a summersault plancha on Andrade and Garza, but they catch him and powerbomb him on the floor!

Andrade boots Ford in the head before punching him. Garza tags in and takes Ford down at ringside. Garza gets him in the ring and picks up a two count. Garza applies an arm bar, but Ford fights up. Garza backs him to the corner, but Ford knocks him back. Ford gets on the second rope, but Garza dropkicks him in the legs. Garza rips his pants off and tags Andrade in. Andrade applies an arm bar over the ropes to Ford for a few moments. Andrade lets go and applies an arm bar in the center of the ring. Ford fights up, but Andrade powers him to the corner. Garza tags in and knees him. Garza puts Ford in the tree of woe, gets in Angelo Dawkins’ face, and hits a running kick on Ford. Andrade tags in and hits a top rope double stomp to Ford while in the tree of woe. Andrade picks up a near fall. Andrade stomps Ford and tags Garza in. Garza kicks Ford and applies an abdominal stretch. Andrade tags in, but Ford hits a step-up enzuigiri.
Dawkins tags in, hits a pair of clotheslines on Andrade, and hits a back elbow. Dawkins knocks Garza off the apron and avalanches Andrade. Andrade gets out of an exploder suplex and hits hits wild back elbow. Andrade backs up, but Dawkins viciously spears him down. Both men are down.
Ford and Garza tag in. Ford hits a huge cross-body block, but Garza rolls through. Andrade holds the legs, but the referee catches him. Garza dropkicks Ford in the head, but Dawkins breaks it up. Vega gets on the apron to argue. Ford is sent into Vega, and she’s knocked off the apron. Andrade checks on Vega. Ford flips through a Wing Clipper and tags Dawkins in. Dawkins hits a Cash Out, and Ford follows up with a HUGE splash for the win!

The Street Profits celebrate with Kevin Owens at ringside. Andrade, Garza, and Vega leave arguing.
Good #WWERaw Tag Team Title match. Montez Ford is ridiculously talented. Unreal athleticism. Still not sure what the overall purpose of the poisoning was since it didn't even lead to any drama in this match. Just happened and was done. Nothing to do with the match. #SummerSlam

Kayla Braxton is backstage with the Golden Role Models. Braxton mentions Bayley got through Asuka with Banks’ help. Bayley says she could take that offensively, but she’s too happy. Banks says if Bayley can beat Asuka, she can beat her as well. Bayley gave Asuka the fight of her life. They know Asuka is mad that they took out Kairi Sane, but she’s The Boss. She loves being Two Belts Banks and making Asuka tap. She can Bank on that. Bayley breaks out a broom and says it’ll be a clean sweep. Next week, they’ll retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Payback. The Role Model Era will continue.

Sonya Deville vs. Mandy Rose
They go face-to-face, and Deville talks a little trash before shoving her. Rose goes for a pump kick, but Deville rolls her up for a one count. Rose punches her out of the ring. They brawl at ringside before Rose sends her into the barricade. Rose bounces her into the steps, but Deville quickly punches back. Rose brings her over to the ramp and hits a suplex!

Rose grabs her and sends her into the ring post. Rose gets her to her feet and sends her back-first into the other ring post. Rose punches her in the face and sends her into the barricade. Rose gets on the commentary table and dives off with a clothesline on Deville. Rose goes under the ring and brings a table out. Rose sets it up, but has trouble getting it up on the legs. Rose goes to grab her, but Deville hits her in the midsection a few times with a chair. Deville bounces her off the commentary table a few times before putting her in the ring for a near fall. Deville hits the ropes and hits a running knee to the chest for a near fall.
Deville kicks her in the corner, but Rose blocks one and takes her down for some punches. Rose clotheslines Deville in the corner and goes for a running knee. Deville counters it and applies a standing dragon sleeper. Deville takes her down and applies a body scissor for good measure. Rose fights and turns over to pin her for a two count. Deville peppers her with some kicks and talks trash. Deville knees her in the face. Deville punches away at her and hits the ropes, but Rose hits a big knee to the face for a near fall.

Rose gets her outside the ring and bounces her off the commentary table a few times. Rose puts Deville on the table and goes to the apron. Deville rolls off the table before anything happens. Rose gets down and grabs a steel chair. Rose slides it over the table toward Deville’s face, but Deville ducks. Deville knocks the table over and knees Rose before hitting a big pump kick! Rose gets her in the ring and goes for The Bed of Roses. Deville gets out and goes for The Bed of Roses, but Rose gets out of it. Rose drops her with three running knees and drops her with The Bed of Roses! Rose demands Deville get up. Rose hits one more running knee to the face for the win! Sonya Deville must leave WWE.
Winner by Pinfall: Mandy Rose
Sonya Deville absolutely flips out and is in tears at ringside. Mr. Money in the Bank Otis runs down, does a Caterpillar, and hugs Mandy Rose. Otis holds Rose up and poses with her. Otis rubs his belly and Mandy Rose attempts a Caterpillar… but just doesn’t pull it off.

Video Package: Seth Rollins vs. Dominik Mysterio

Seth Rollins w/ Murphy vs. Dominik Mysterio w/ Rey Mysterio
They circle the ring, and Rollins applies a waistlock. Mysterio gets out. Rollins gets a headlock takeover, but Mysterio quickly slides out of it. Rollins offers him a freebie, so Mysterio hooks the side headlock. Rollins then easily tosses him off and taunts him. They lock up, and Rollins cinches in a side headlock. Rollins wrenches the arm, but Mysterio punches back at him. Rollins knees him, but Mysterio hits the ropes and hits a nice arm drag. Rollins gets out of a roll-up and hits some hip tosses before kipping up. Rollins looks impressed.

They lock up again, and Rollins viciously clubs and stomps away at him. Rollins connects with a scoop slam. Murphy puts a kendo stick in the ring, but Mysterio grabs it. Rollins runs away, but Mysterio chases him. Rollins attacks him coming in the ring and kicks the kendo stick out of the ring. Rollins viciously whips Mysterio into the corner, and Mysterio collapses in pain. Rollins gets Mysterio to his feet and viciously whips him to the opposite corner. Mysterio goes down hard. Rollins connects with a textbook suplex before applying a camel clutch. Rollins taunts Rey Mysterio at ringside while applying the hold to his son. Rollins lets go and shouts at Rey. Dominik attacks him from behind, but Rollins drops him with a Sling Blade. Rollins stomps away at Mysterio and does some joint manipulation. Dominik’s mother is watching sadly backstage.
Murphy puts a chair in the ring, and Rollins sets it up and sits down. Rollins taunts Rey at ringside. Rollins clubs away at Mysterio while shouting at his father. Rey gave his word that he wouldn’t get involved and looks conflicted. Rollins goes to give Dominik a Stomp on the chair, but Mysterio moves. Mysterio then hits a drop-toe-hold into the chair. Mysterio punches away at him, but Rollins gets him up for a Buckle Bomb. Mysterio counters into a hurricanrana into the corner. Mysterio follow up with a big tornado DDT for a near fall!

Rey shouts advice to his son from ringside. Mysterio picks up the kendo stick and viciously hits Rollins in the ribs with it. Mysterio breaks the stick over Rollins’ back and hits him in the midsection again. Mysterio then unloads and splinters the kendo stick on Rollins. There are broken pieces of kendo stick strewn about the ring. Mysterio goes to the top rope, but Rollins cuts him off. Rollins goes for a superplex, but Mysterio blocks it. Rollins quickly jumps back up and hits a superplex followed by a falcon arrow for a near fall!
Rollins grabs a kendo stick and hits Mysterio in the midsection with it before smacking it off his back. Rollins shouts at Rey and asks when he’ll save his son. Rollins continues to hit Dominik. Rollins’ body has welts all over it from Dominik’s kendo stick attack. Dominik’s mother is looking nervous. Rollins attacks Dominik. Murphy puts a table in the ring, and Rollins sets it up. Rollins hits Dominik with the kendo stick a few times and puts him on the top rope near the table. Rollins props him up on the top rope and hits him with the kendo stick. Rollins climbs and shouts at Rey Mysterio at ringside. Dominik then crotches Rollins on the top rope. Mysterio follows up by putting the kendo stick over Rollins’ throat and hitting a Russian Leg Sweep off the ropes through the table!

Rey gives advice to his son as Dominik goes to the top rope. Dominik connects with Eddie Guerrero’s trademark Frog Splash for a near fall! Mysterio goes outside and grabs a steel chair. Murphy goes to put a chair in the ring, but Mysterio tries to stop him. Rollins viciously attacks Mysterio and hits a stiff powerbomb. Rollins pulls off Mysterio’s upper ring gear to expose his chest and back. Rollins grabs the kendo stick and shouts at Rey before viciously hitting Dominik with it. Rey looks conflicted and gets on the apron. Rollins warns him to stay down. Rollins wildly hits Mysterio with the kendo stick. Rey looks miserable, but is still sticking to his word he gave his son.
Murphy hands a pair of handcuffs to Rollins. Rollins taunts Rey Mysterio and drags Dominik toward the ropes. Rollins is really taunting him. Rey’s wife walks out to the stage, so Rey runs up to stop her. Rollins looks pleased and taunts them. Dominik rolls Rollins up for a near fall. Murphy runs into the ring and attacks Dominik. Murphy hits a huge knee to the face and drags Dominik out of the ring to jab his eye into the ring steps. Rey has seen enough and attacks Murphy before he takes his son’s eye. Rollins and Murphy double-team Mysterio. Rollins sends Dominik into the barricade and goes back to the attack on Rey.
Rollins and Murphy then handcuff Rey Mysterio to the ropes! Rollins grabs a kendo stick, as does Murphy. Rollins and Murphy stare at Rey before looking up the ramp at his wife. Rollins drops the stick and motions toward Rey’s wife. Dominik attacks Rollins from behind and hits a hip toss on Murphy on the floor. Dominik whips Rollins into the steel steps before taking Murphy down again. Dominik hits a 619 from the apron and puts Rollins in the ring. Dominik connects with a 619! Dominik goes to the top rope for a Frog Splash, but Rollins gets the knees up!

Rey Mysterio tries to get in the ring, but he’s still handcuffed. Rollins tells Rey to beg for his son! Rollins holds Dominik’s head up. Rollins connects with a Stomp and covers Dominik for the win!
Winner by Pinfall: Seth Rollins
Rollins drops the key to the handcuffs onto the broken Dominik. Dominik slowly unlocks his father. Rey embraces his son and talks to him after his first match. They embrace in the ring, and Rey Mysterio is crying.

Raw Women’s Championship
Sasha Banks (c) w/ Bayley vs. Asuka
Banks quickly takes Asuka down and attacks the injured knee. Banks kicks away at her, but Asuka fights back. Asuka takes her down and punches away at her. Asuka kicks back at her before knocking Banks down. Asuka hits a sliding forearm. Banks gets out of the ring and talks to Bayley. Banks goes to leave, but Asuka grabs her and puts her in the ring. Banks quickly spins and hits a kick. Asuka quickly comes back with a leg lock at ringside. Asuka throws Banks by the hair and hits a hip attack in the corner. Asuka hits a snapmare and kicks her in the spine. Asuka covers for a two count. Asuka quickly goes for the arm bar, but Banks blocks it. Asuka puts her on the apron and kicks away at the chest. Asuka gets on the apron and kicks away at Banks. Banks quickly gets in the ring and causes Asuka to kick the ring post! Banks then CRUSHES Asuka with a sunset flip powerbomb off the apron to the floor! Unreal!

Asuka somehow gets in the ring before being counted out. Banks covers twice, but Asuka kicks out. Banks attacks Asuka and chokes her in the corner. Banks boots Asuka in the head and lays her out on the second rope. Banks goes for double knees, but Asuka counters and puts her in the electric chair. Asuka hits a facebuster and applies an ankle lock! Banks fights up and rolls through. Asuka quickly goes to the second rope, but Banks cuts her off. Banks climbs and sets up for a superplex, but Asuka counters with a DDT off the middle rope! Asuka covers, but Banks somehow kicks out.
Banks rolls out of the ring to recover. Asuka goes to grab her and sends Banks into the barricade. Asuka drives Banks into the LED apron and puts her in the ring. Asuka goes to the top rope and hits a missile dropkick for a near fall. Asuka stomps her in the corner and goes for a slam, but Banks counters into a double knee facebuster for a near fall. Banks goes to the top rope for a Frog Splash, but Asuka moves. Banks rolls to Bayley and confers with her. Bayley pumps her up. Banks charges, but Asuka catches her with an Asuka Lock attempt. Banks fights it and rolls her up for a near fall. Banks then goes to the Bank Statement! Asuka fights it and counters into an Asuka Lock. Banks fights up and punches Asuka back. Asuka quickly kicks her back. Bayley gets on the apron to help Banks. Asuka goes for a hip attack, but Bayley and Banks move. Asuka counters Banks and manages to apply the Asuka Lock to win the title.
Winner by Submission and new Raw Women’s Champion: Asuka
Sasha Banks looks completely disappointed. Asuka celebrates with the Raw Women’s Championship. Bayley looks upset and hands Banks her WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Good match with Asuka and Banks but where's the quality control? We already saw Frog Splashes in the last match, a powerbomb on the floor spot in the second match… Banks even hit a 619 on the apron. Seeing the same spots in multiple matches, they mean less and less. #SummerSlam

Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre (c)
The bell rings, and Orton immediately slides out of the ring, taunting McIntyre. McIntyre looks at him with disgust. Orton takes his time getting in the ring. McIntyre charges, so Orton puts himself through the ropes to keep him back. McIntyre soon grabs him, but Orton gets out of the ring before McIntyre sets up for a Claymore Kick. Orton nearly catches him twice with an RKO, but McIntyre pushes him off and quickly gets out of the ring to collect himself. McIntyre takes his time thinking about it before getting on the apron and smiling.
McIntyre blocks a kick and grabs Orton, throwing him to the corner. McIntyre stomps and punches away at him in the corner. Orton gets sent across the ring, but he comes back with an RKO attempt. McIntyre pushes him off, but Orton manages to send him shoulder-first into the ring post. McIntyre falls to the floor. Orton sends McIntyre into the barricade and bounces him off the commentary table. Orton sends him into the ring post and bounces him off the commentary table again. Orton clears the table and hits a back suplex on the table. Orton gets in the ring to stop the count, goes back outside, and gives him another back suplex on the table. Orton pulls him off the table and hits a regular suplex on the floor. Orton puts McIntyre in the ring and picks up a one count.

Orton applies a chin lock and cinches it in. McIntyre fights up, but Orton whips him down. Orton starts the Garvin Stomps before stomping the midsection. Orton stomps his limbs some more, and McIntyre is writhing on the mat. Orton does his trademark pose, as McIntyre struggles to get up. McIntyre punches Orton back, but Orton kicks him in the midsection. McIntyre reverses a whip to the corner, blocks a boot, and hits a knee breaker! Orton falls to the mat in pain. McIntyre charges, but Orton kicks him in the knee. Both men are down and holding their knees.
Orton gets to his feet and head-butts McIntyre before punching him. Orton hits the ropes, but McIntyre comes back with a big spinebuster. McIntyre is bleeding from a cut between his eyebrows. McIntyre then applies Ric Flair’s Figure Four Leglock. Orton fights it, but McIntyre locks it in. Orton screams in pain and tries to turn it over, but McIntyre turns him over again. Orton grabs the referee’s shirt, sits up, and rakes McIntyre’s eye to get out of the hold. Orton gets to his feet, but McIntyre viciously chops him back down.

McIntyre is bleeding from the eye. McIntyre punches Orton from his knees. Both men exchange punches before Orton uppercuts him. Orton kicks him in the midsection, but McIntyre fights back. McIntyre stuns him with a right hand. Orton goes for an RKO, but McIntyre shoves him off and hits a pair of clotheslines. McIntyre follows up with a pair of overhead belly-to-belly suplexes. McIntyre goes to the top rope and waits for Orton to get up. McIntyre hits a diving clothesline before kipping up. McIntyre is fired up. McIntyre puts Orton on the top rope and viciously chops him. McIntyre punches Orton before trying to a superplex, but Orton sweeps the feet. Orton punches McIntyre and has him in a tree of woe. McIntyre all of a sudden sits up and slams him off the top rope! McIntyre covers Orton for a near fall.

McIntyre sets up for a Future Shock DDT, but Orton fights it. McIntyre hangs with him and hits the Future Shock DDT. McIntyre covers, but Orton kicks out! McIntyre looks frustrated and picks Orton up by his ear. McIntyre lifts Orton, but Orton elbows him in the head. Orton puts McIntyre on the apron, but McIntyre punches him back. McIntyre goes to the top rope for a diving clothesline, but Orton avoids it and hits a snap powerslam for a near fall. Orton goes for a hanging DDT, but McIntyre gets out and hits a Glasgow Kiss! McIntyre then charges and clotheslines him over the top rope. The momentum sends McIntyre over as well! McIntyre puts him in the ring, but Orton catches him coming in with a hanging DDT for a near fall. Orton is bleeding from the forehead.

Orton drops down and sizes McIntyre up. McIntyre claws his way to the ropes and can’t pull himself up. Orton then gets up and is thinking of a Punt Kick. Orton backs up and charges, but McIntyre counters with a powerbomb. McIntyre sizes Orton up for a Claymore Kick, but Orton ducks it! Orton goes for an RKO, but McIntyre counters into a backslide pin for the win!
Winner by Pinfall and still WWE Champion: Drew McIntyre
Orton is absolutely stunned at ringside. McIntyre shouts that he is the mountaintop.

The bell rings, and Strowman shoves The Fiend to the corner and punches him. The Fiend simply laughs at him. The Fiend knocks Strowman back and gives him a one-armed slam. The Fiend snaps the neck twice, and Strowman gets out of the ring to recover. The Fiend goes under the ring and pulls out a toolbox. The Fiend drives the toolbox into his midsection before bouncing it off his spine. The Fiend takes the top off the commentary table. Strowman punches and head-butts him back before shoulder blocking him through the barricade.

The Fiend is unfazed by that and punches back at Strowman. Strowman lifts him and slams him onto the commentary table. The Fiend’s back only partly lands on the table. That looked painful. The table slowly collapses. The Fiend somehow gets up, so Strowman drives the steel steps into his head. Strowman gets him in the ring and avalanches him. Strowman connects with a Running Powerslam for a near fall. Strowman says in disbelief, “What the f***?”
The Fiend rolls out of the ring to recover, so Strowman follows him out and bounces him off the commentary table. Strowman throws him up the ramp and kicks him in the head. Strowman sends him into one of the LED walls before knocking him into Gorilla Position. The Fiend fights back and sends Strowman into the walls of Gorilla Position. Wyatt hits Sister Abigail on the floor for a near fall.

The Fiend gouges at his eyes, and Strowman gets away. Strowman crawls back to the stage. The Fiend sends him into the LED wall, temporarily shutting off some panels. The Fiend punches him around and drags him down the ramp. The Fiend knees him in the midsection, and Strowman goes down. Strowman is bleeding from the top of his head. The Fiend goes for the Mandible Claw, but Strowman grabs him by the throat and drives him into the LED apron. Strowman clubs him down on the floor and puts him in the ring. Strowman lifts The Fiend up for another Running Powerslam for a near fall. Strowman angrily punches him in the face and screams at him.
Strowman gets to his feet and looks around. Strowman goes outside and grabs a box cutter. Strowman brings up the razor blade and starts cutting away at the canvas. Strowman rips away the padding to expose the wood planks. He turns and sees The Fiend standing there. Strowman shouts, “Why won’t you die?” The Fiend hits a one-armed slam on the planks. The Fiend hits two Sister Abigails on the wood planks for the win!

The Fiend takes the WWE Universal Championship… but all of a sudden Roman Reigns returns and spears him down!

Reigns punches away at The Fiend and goes outside to spear Strowman! Reigns grabs a steel chair and absolutely destroys it on Strowman’s back! Reigns gets in the ring and waits for The Fiend to get up. Reigns the viciously spears him down! Reigns holds up the WWE Universal Championship as the show ends.

Well I can see why they went with this last. It was a typical Fiend match, but they tore up the ring and brought Roman Reigns back. The Reigns comeback is huge without question. Hopefully this leads to a big turnaround for the company. #SummerSlam

Overall this was a pretty good #SummerSlam. At times the pumped in crowd noise didn't match what was being shown, which was distracting. Still, there were some really good matches on this, particularly the #WWEChampionship match. Dominik also killed it. I mean… wow.
