It was announced on July 30, that ECW Press will be releasing the official autobiography of longtime Canadian star LuFisto in 2022.
In a statement to slamwrestling.net, ECW Press revealed that LuFisto – real name Genevieve Goulet – and Slam Wrestling producer/author Greg Oliver will be releasing her autobiography “LuFisto: The Wounded Owl – Passion, Perseverance and Pain in Professional Wrestling” in the spring of 2022.
According to the announcement, the idea for the book was sparked when ECW Press Executive Editor Michael Holmes was asked at the Bookmarks COVID-Con virtual convention which pro wrestler he would like to see a book from next; LuFisto was his answer.
After hearing Holmes’ response, Oliver reached out to LuFisto and pitched the idea. According to the announcement, the book will chronicle her entire career from her name changes to her time in Japan and Mexico to her health problems to her fight for women’s rights in wrestling.
LuFisto has been wrestling for more than 20 years for various promotions around the world, including CZW, IWA Mid-South, Ring of Honor, JAPW, AAA and DTU in Mexico, SHIMMER, IWGP in Japan, AIW and countless others.
