The latest Quinnipiac poll in the Connecticut Senate race released this morning shows that Linda McMahon, the former WWE CEO, has gained some points on Democratic state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal while her rival in the Republican primary Rob Simmons also picked up support in his race against McMahon. Blumenthal now leads McMahon by 10%, at 50% versus 40% with McMahon gaining three percent from the last poll in mid July. Since that same poll, support for McMahon among Republicans dropped 5% however although she leads comfortably with 47%, with Simmons at 30% and Schiff at 14%. The GOP primary is August 10 and McMahon won the party’s endorsement a couple of months ago.
