Hana Kimura passes away at 22

Hana Kimura, one of the top stars of the all-women’s promotion Stardom in Japan, passed away today at the age of 22.

The cause of death has not been revealed, but Kimura posted graphic images on social media hours before her death showing self-mutilation to her arms. She also wrote what could be described as a suicide note:

“Nearly 100 opinions every day. I couldn’t deny that I was hurt. I’m dead. Thank you for giving me a mother.  It was a life I wanted to be loved.  Thank you to everyone who supported me. I love it. I’m weak. I’m sorry. I don’t want to be alive anymore. It was a life I wanted to be loved. Thank you everyone. I love you. Bye.”

Recently, Kimura has been the target of cyberbullying from around the world. Appearing on a reality show “Terrance House,” she got upset with one of the housemates who ruined her wrestling gear in the laundry. She hit the housemate and yelled at him. Since the incident, she has been targeted online by cyberbullies leading to depression.

According to F4WOnline, Kimura was one of two stars the owners of Stardom were planning to build the company around. She was the only child of retired wrestler Kyoko Kimura. Kimura had been wrestling since the age of 18.

On behalf of the staff of Wrestleview, we send our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Hana Kimura as they deal with this terrible loss.
