WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez, currently 2-0 in EVOLVE competition, will defend her WSU World Championship against Brittney Savage on 5/1 in Rahway, NJ at EVOLVE.
Mercedes Martinez & Brittney Savage seem to be butting heads alot lately. Savage, named by Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine as the most likeliest female to be signed by WWE and voted female rookie of the year, is making all the moves. Savage is currently the WSU Spirit Champion and has created her own stable, called the “Cosmo Club” with WSU Tag Champions Jana & Cindy Rogers, with manager Rick Cataldo.
On 3/19 at ICW, Mercedes Martinez and Brittney Savage clashed in the first ever Champion vs Champion match with both championships on the line. Mercedes won the match via DQ. However, the rivalry between these two was just getting started.
On 4/17 at NYWC, Brittney Savage interfered in Mercedes Martinez’s tag team title defense, and cost Martinez the WSU Tag Team Titles, assisting Rogers & Jana in the victory. Savage then tried to persuade Martinez’s partner, Angel Orsini, to turn against her.
Now on 5/1 at EVOLVE, Brittney has riled up Mercedes Martinez so much, that Martinez can’t wait to rip her apart. Has Savage asked for more than she can bargain for? Whatever Savage has planned, she better plan to do it alone, as this EVOLVE match will be straight one – on – one competition. Any interference, from either wrestler’s side, will not only cost the wrestler the match, but will cost them their roster spot in both EVOLVE and WSU.
We’ve seen crazy things before in WSU, but does Brittney Savage really have Mercedes Martinez’s number? We’ll find out if Savage can dial the right combination or if Savage will become another victim of the greatest womens wrestler today, the longest reigning and defending champion in all of womens wrestling – “The Latina Sensation” Mercedes Martinez.

WSU On The Road Result
On 4/24, in Atco, NJ at NWS, Brittney Savage defeated Niya via Diamond Cutter to retain the WSU Spirit Championship. This match will appear on a future “On The Road” DVD release.

VIP ticket holders got early admission, a meet & greet with the stars of the show and a damn good selection of food to chow on.
7pm start. No idea of the crowd size – lots.
1) 4-Way Tag Match:
The Latinos (Super Calo & Kid Loco) def Rip Impact & Jess Ice, The Italianos (“Stickball” Tony Carbonie & Primo Scordino) w/ Gary Gambino and The T-Rex Express (Troy Buchanan & Rex Atkins) [12 min]A wild opener that saw the rookie Ice pinned after both Latinos hit moves off the top rope while everyone else brawled outside the ring.
2) JT Playa def “Sniper” Randy Vahn [11 min]Good match with a confusing finish – Vahn had Playa pinned but it appeared to be only a 2 count. Music started playing and many fans thought the bout was over. Suddenly Quebec wrestler Johnny Jack Spade ran out and began dancing and gyrating around the ring. While Sniper watched him Playa snuck up and rolled him up for the 3 count and the win.
3) Match to Crown the First Ever TWA Women’s Champion:
“Anti Diva” Kaitlin Diemond def Cherry Bomb to win the title [6 min]Short but solid match that saw Diemond steal the win by holding the ropes while pinning Cherry
– The MF’ers – Manager “Infamous” Jay Moore, “Asian Nightmare” Kwan Chang, “All That” Chris Sommers and TWA Heavyweight Champion Cody Deaner came to the ring and talked and talked and talked. Eventually Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake came out to the ring and after some hilarious back and forth between him and the MF’ers he called out his partner Tatanka and challenged the MF’ers to a match later on the show.
4) 3-Way Ladder Match; TWA Cruiserweight Championship:
Defending champion Robbie Reckless def “Tenacious” Scotty Turner and “Dangerboy” Derek Wylde to retain the title [17 min]As crazy as you might expect with tons of ladder action. The end came when all 3 guys were on a ladder reaching for the belt and all crashing to the mat at the same time but it was Reckless who had the belt in his hands.
-After the match some weird guy with a red mohawk showed up and told Reckless to watch his back because he was gunning for the title. I think he said his name was TJ Thunder
-After he left Robbie Reckless called his girlfriend into the ring and proposed to her. She said yes.
– There was a “15 minute” intermission that included a young dance troupe performing in the ring, free t-shirt give-aways from some Paintball sponsor and Smith Hart giving away a free “Hart & Soul” dvd [34 min]
5) TWA Tag Team Championship:
Defending champions Canadian Extreme (Kryss Thorn & CK Sexx) vs “Textbook” Tyson Dux & Manabu Soya ended in a No Contest [20 min]Awesome match that ended when all 4 guys were brawling inside and outside the ring. The ref finally gave up trying to restore order and called for the bell to end it. A few minutes after that it broke up.
6) TWA Heavyweight Championship:
“Highlander” Robbie MacAllister def Cody Deaner to win the title [18 min]Another awesome match. MacAllister pinned Deaner after a splash off the top rope.
-Prior to the main event “Infamous” Jay Moore announced it would now be a 3 on 2 Handicap match and introduced his “special surprise” Cezar.
Main Event: 3 on 2 Handicap Match:
Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake & Tatanka def The MF’ers (“Asian Nightmare” Kwan Chang, “All That” Chris Sommers & Cezar) w/ “Infamous” Jay Moore [18 min]Another awesome match as the wrestling legends and MF’ers went balls out to secure victory. It ended when Tatanka hit Sommers with a tomahawk chop to the head from the top rope and pinned him.
-After the match Brutus used his giant shears to cut a bunch of Sommers’ hair off.
Show ended just after 11PM.
Lots of great matches and action. A full wizard of id review and Mrs Id’s action pics will be posted eventually.
TWA’s next show is May 2nd in Fort Erie
