WWE Smackdown Live kicks off with Kevin Owens coming out. A loud pop for the Canadian native. He gets in the ring and a “Kevin Owens” chant from the crowd in Toronto. Owens finally gets to speak and says that yesterday marked the 5 year anniversary of the day he signed his WWE contract. And during those years, he created memories and experienced things he never thought he would experienced. He stepped in the ring with people he looked up to, the best in the industry. And on Sunday, he was in the ring with someone who calls himself the best in the world. And that’s as far from reality as can be, Summerslam will go down as a night he will forever remember.
Owens says that one reason he will remember that is because his entire family were sitting at ringside and got to experience and share the sold out arena with people begging to see him kick Shane McMahon’s ass. And the best part is that’s exactly what he did. What he will remember most is hitting the Stunner on Shane because of the fans, he will remember that moment for the rest of his life.
Kevin says that is done and he sets his sights on something else and that is the King of the Ring tournament. Owens says because he has been a WWE fan his whole life. And that tournament was one of the things he loved watching the most. He is thrilled that its being brought back and he’s happy to be in it. Winning the tournament would mean just as much to him as winning any title he has already won. Look at the list of past winners. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Edge, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Owen Hart and so many more. He is adding his name to that list.
Shane McMahon’s music hits. Out comes McMahon and Owens asks why. Shane says it’s a nice moment for Kevin, enjoying his tainted victory and announcing the King of the Ring tournament. A loud “asshole” chant by the crowd. Shane says there’s no reason to call Owens that. Shane says he has footage to show what a low life Kevin is. We see a picture of Kevin Owens low blowing Shane during their match at Summerslam.
The fans chant “You deserve it”. Shane asks if that’s what he calls competition. Is that what makes Kevin Owens a man? Owens says if he’s; going to be lectured about being a man, it won’t be by someone who was part of the Mean Street Posse. Being a man is doing anything to win, especially if your job is on the line. Fighting for what you believe in and that’s what he’s been doing for weeks. And in this case, being a man means shutting Shane’s “stupid face”. Shane calls Kevin a low life and he will always be known as a cheater.
McMahon says Kevin Owens is a cheat. Shane says he’s upset because Owens should be in the unemployment line. It makes him want to walk down to the ring and beat the crap out of him. Kevin says he has his fighting boots on. Shane says he won’t do that but Owens is in competition. Shane says the main reason he wanted to talk was he wanted to roll another piece of footage. We see clips of Kevin Owens hitting Elias with a steel chair at Summerslam.
Shane says Elias was so traumatised, he gave him the night off and the 24/7 title is suspended for tonight. But he wants Kevin to think about what he saw. What was Elias wearing when Kevin Owens hit him? An actual WWE referee jersey. Elias was an official representing the company. And they have to protect their officials, you can’t intentionally attack an official. Shane states that Kevin Owens is fine $100,000 U.S. Owens freaks out and says it’s a joke. He says a hundred grand might not be nothing to Shane but to him, it’s a down payment to a house, college tuition. And if Shane is a man, he will reconsider because he knows it’s crap. Shane looks at him, says nope, drops the microphone and leaves.
Despite this being the fourth show in just as many days in Toronto, the crowd is still red hot. Bret Hart and Owen Hart's names got big pops. It looks like this Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon feud is not over. For some reason, I had a feeling it wasn't. Good start to #SDLive.

We see clips of what has happened to Roman Reigns the past few weeks.
Daniel Bryan and Rowan
Bryan says there is no question that someone is out to get Roman Reigns. But they had nothing to do with the car accident nor the horrific backstage accident. Despite Buddy Murphy falsely accusing Rowan, Bryan calls Murphy a liar. But he doesn’t blame Buddy Murphy because if it was anyone of them in the crowd, they would all lie and cave if Roman attacked them. Bryan says he doesn’t blame Murphy as he had to give a name. The problem is that Buddy gave the wrong name.
The fans chant “It was you” as Bryan yells at the crowd. He asks them if they think they did it and the fans chant yes. Bryan says that’s what is wrong with all of them and that’s wrong with society. Somebody tells a lie, it gets spread on social media and all of a sudden, it becomes the truth. He hates to disappoint but he and Rowan had nothing to do with the incidents. And tonight they are going to prove it. Bryan drops the microphone as the two leave for the back.
Shane is backstage as he is asked who Kevin Owens’ opponent is. In comes Samoa Joe who says Owens is walking around like a little bad ass but he wants to show him that the only bad ass is him. Shane says Joe is going to teach Kevin Owens a lesson and Owens will learn that you must respect authority.
I get the feeling that it's Strowman who attacked Roman Reigns. That Buddy Murphy mistook Rowan for Strowman because of the beard or something. #SDLive

A fun main event. I'm suddenly more interested and invested in this Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston feud. For me, easily Kofi's best feud since becoming champion. Nice to see the Revival main event, even if it is to play second fiddle to the WWE title feud. #SDLive
