Wrestleview.com’s Victoria Tedesco spoke with Paul “Triple H” Levesque (above) during today’s Pre-NXT TakeOver: Toronto conference call with the media.
Triple H talked about how he prepares talent for these TakeOver shows where there are so many expectations. He is also asked about a possible move to FOX Sports for NXT and going from a taped show to a live show.
Other highlights include:
— Triple H was asked if he had any interest in the positions Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff were hired to fill. Triple H said there are only so many hours in a day and with all the responsibilities he has at the moment, including being EVP of Talent, Live Events, and Creative, his plate is full. He said he is looking forward to working with both Heyman and Bischoff.
— Triple H was asked if he is next in line to take over RAW and Smackdown if Vince McMahon should step away. Triple H said succession plans are always there for WWE and NXT, but they’re constantly changing depending on a number of factors. He thinks McMahon will outlive everyone. McMahon has no plans to step away anytime soon.
— Triple H alluded to AEW being on Wednesday nights. He says the other company talks about counter programming, but NXT has been on Wednesdays for a long time. No one mentioned counter programming when AEW announced they were going to be airing on Wednesdays. If they moved to FS1 on Wednesday nights, that’s not counter programming. Triple H says they’ll do their thing and not worry about another company.
