The Shield’s final match as a team to air live on the WWE Network this Sunday

The Shield's Final Chapter

WWE has announced that The Shield’s final match as a team is set to air as a live special on the WWE Network this Sunday from the TaxSlayer Center in Moline, IL beginning at 9:30pm ET/8:30 CT.

The special event that is being called “The Shield’s Last Chapter” will see The Shield squaring off against Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley.

In addition, the TaxSlayer Center website is also advertising that current Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor will defend the title against Elias, which is also schedule to be a part of this Sunday’s network special.

Dean Ambrose (real name Jonathan Good) informed WWE officials back in January that he would be leaving the company after his current deal expired, which has been believed to be sometime at the end of this month.

WWE made Ambrose a larger offer in an attempt to keep him with the company and prevent him from signing with All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor, Impact or any other wrestling promotion that would be interested in him.

Ambrose signed a developmental deal in April 2011, and first started out in the company’s Florida Championship Wrestling developmental territory and in December of that same year he transitioned to the NXT Brand. He made his main roster debut at 2012 Survivor Series Pay-Per View as a member of The Shield, along with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
