Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Dale Lewis and El Mongol wrestled to a draw > Bob Armstrong and Paul DeMarco wrestled to a draw > Georgia Tag Team Title Match: Assassin #2 & the Professional defeated Alberto & Ramon Torres* to win title / Notes: This was taped for the ?Atlanta TV Wrestling? television program hosted by Ed Capral. Jack Crawford managed Dale Lewis. Crawford told Capral that both El Mongol and the Professional were scared of Dale Lewis, who had issued a challenge against the winner of their match in an effort to secure the top contender position for Gene Kiniski’s NWA World Heavyweight Title. He also claimed that he believed one of the Assassins to be Bobby Graham. In a response to the NWA investigation into his tactics against El Mongol from their match on January 24, 1969, the Professional told Capral that he had never used a foreign object during his career, and that the only reason he knocked Mongol cold with his head butt was that he had an unusually hard head. He also countered that Leo Garibaldi, referee for the match, had allowed Mongol to use illegal karate chops on him during the match, claiming Garibaldi was biased and partial toward Mongol. Alberto & Ramon Torres had been the reigning Georgia Tag Team Champions since they defeated the Assassins on December 25, 1968, in Savannah.
