“Switchblade” Jay White defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s New Beginning event in Osaka, Japan to become the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
White spoke with media after the title win, saying he understands if the title change came off as “shocking” and that he did exactly what he said he was going to do.
“Only six years in this business. Just four years in New Japan and I have the top prize that so many of your beloved wrestlers have yet been able to obtain. And now that I have it, it’s going to make it that much harder, no, impossible for those old fu*ks like Ishii to get it.
I was ready a long time ago. Now, I am undeniable. You can not look past me as the top, not Gaijin, the top wrestler, not just in this company, in the fu*cking world.”
