The first official trailer (view above) for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s newest film “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” was released on Friday.
The film, which is a spin-off of the “Fast & Furious” character Luke Hobbs, also stars Jason Statham who reprises his role as Deckard Shaw the lawless outcast and former British military elite operative the Luke Hobbs character faced off with in Furious 7.
We previously reported Dwayne Johnson announced that former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns (Johnson’s real-life cousin), who is currently on a leave of absence from WWE battling leukemia would co-star in the film as the brother of the Luke Hobbs character.
According to the film’s website, “Hobbs & Shaw” was directed by David Leitch, (Deadpool 2) from a script written by longtime Fast & Furious narrative architect Chris Morgan. The film is produced by Morgan, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Hiram Garcia. The executive producers are Dany Garcia, Kelly McCormick, Steven Chasman, Ethan Smith and Ainsley Davies.
“Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” is scheduled to be released nationwide in theaters on August 2 per the Internet Movie Database.
