A video kicks off the show highlighting the matches we’re going to see tonight on NXT TakeOver: Phoenix.
Some medieval sounding music starts to play, and people dressed like knights come out to the stage and stand in formation. People begin to chant, “War.” The War Raiders make their entrance to a great reception.

NXT Tag Team Championships
The War Raiders vs. The Undisputed Era (c’s)
The bell rings, and The Undisputed Era immediately dropkicks them. They throw Hanson out of the ring and concentrate on Rowe. Rowe clears them from the ring, and Hanson double clotheslines them down. Rowe then bodyslams Hanson off the apron onto The Undisputed Era!

They get Strong in the ring and attack him. The Undisputed Era then manages to send Rowe into Hanson, knocking them out of the ring. Kyle O’Reilly kicks away at Hanson. Strong tries for a suplex, but he won’t budge. O’Reilly tags in, and they double clothesline Hanson. O’Reilly then applies a front facelock. Hanson fights up, but O’Reilly applies a guillotine. Hanson still manages to make a tag. Rowe runs through O’Reilly and Strong. Rowe then powerbombs O’Reilly into Strong! Rowe gets O’Reilly on the apron, but Strong attacks. Rowe blocks a wrecking ball dropkick, but O’Reilly knees him down. Hanson goes for a suicide dive, but they move! Hanson crashes and burns on the floor!
Back in the ring, Rowe viciously slams O’Reilly down and takes Strong down. Finally, Rowe takes a chop block and is down again. Rowe viciously punches O’Reilly back, so he tags in Strong. Strong hits a nasty backbreaker for a two count. O’Reilly tags in and stomps Rowe. They then hit a double-team front suplex onto the top rope. O’Reilly knees away at the ribs and midsection of Rowe. An “Undisputed/Let’s go Raiders” dueling chant fires up. O’Reilly tries to apply a submission, but Rowe fights up. Strong quickly tags in and hits a backbreaker for a two count. O’Reilly tags in and applies a head and arm lock. Hanson finally gets back to the apron, so Strong goads him into the ring. Strong then pulls Rowe over to their corner. Rowe fights them off and hits an exploder suplex, sending O’Reilly into Strong! Rowe crawls to his corner, but O’Reilly pulls Hanson off the apron. Strong wipes Hanson out with a vicious wrecking ball dropkick. Strong then dropkicks Rowe down. O’Reilly tags in, and Rowe fights him off. O’Reilly kicks back, and Rowe forearms him. O’Reilly flips through a slam, but Rowe knees him in the face!
Both men are down, but they manage to tag their partners. Hanson punches Strong back and connects with a back body drop. Hanson punches away at Strong and hits a slam. Hanson then hits a low crossbody block. Hanson connects with a seated senton on Strong. Hanson avoids O’Reilly with a cartwheel and turns him inside out with a clothesline. The crowd is going wild. Hanson starts splashing both O’Reilly and Strong. O’Reilly charges, but accidentally hits Strong. Hanson takes O’Reilly out and hits a Bronco Buster on Strong for a near fall. Hanson wildly punches away at Strong, but Strong comes back with a step-up enzuigiri. Strong then clotheslines him down. O’Reilly and Rowe tag in. Rowe kicks away at him, but Strong jumps on him while O’Reilly hits a chop block. Hanson runs in, but he’s taken out. The War Raiders fight back and hit O’Reilly with a catapult powerslam. Hanson then hits Strong with a suicide dive! Rowe covers, but O’Reilly kicks out!

A LOUD “NXT” chant picks up. Rowe wildly powerbombs O’Reilly down. Hanson tags in and hits a top rope splash! Strong breaks up the pin, so Rowe gets him out of the ring. Hanson goes to the top rope, but O’Reilly forearms him. Strong takes Rowe down. Strong then goes to the top rope and hits a big superplex on Hanson. O’Reilly follows up with a diving knee, but Hanson kicks out! A loud “This is awesome” chant picks up. Strong takes Rowe out with a slam on the apron. Strong tags in. The Undisputed Era hits dual spinning elbows on Hanson. Strong follows up with an Olympic Slam for a near fall. The Undisputed Era connects with the High/Low, but Hanson kicks out! Hanson tries to grab them both, but they escape. Hanson cartwheels out of the way and hits a handspring back elbow! Rowe tags in and lifts them both for a powerslam/powerbomb! War Raiders then hits a powerbomb/diving leg drop on O’Reilly for the win!

Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno
The bell rings, and Riddle charges Ohno. Ohno quickly gets out of the ring to slow down the pace. Riddle gets out of the ring and jumps off the ring steps with a flying forearm. Ohno gets in the ring and avoids a standing moonsault, but Riddle connects with a senton splash. Riddle then deadlifts Ohno with a gutwrench suplex. Ohno gets on the apron and knees Riddle. Riddle reverses a whip, but Ohno flips to the apron. Riddle goes for a sunset bomb, but Ohno holds on. Ohno covers Riddle’s face with the apron and stomps him!

Riddle slowly gets in the ring and takes a leg drop from Ohno. Ohno picks up a two count. Ohno applies a neck vice, but Riddle fights up. Ohno connects with a weird back elbow and picks up a two count. Ohno shouts that Riddle is a bum while he stomps him. Riddle slaps him in the face, but Ohno turns him around and hits some vicious forearms. Ohno follows up with a big boot, and Riddle falls out of the ring. Ohno then drives Riddle headfirst into the ring post. Ohno then sends him into the ring steps, much like he did when he attacked Riddle in December. Riddle gets on the apron, and he is bleeding from the mouth. Ohno kicks him, but Riddle gets fired up. Ohno goes for a suplex, but Riddle counters into a sleeper hold. Ohno gets to the ropes, so Riddle kicks the hand. Riddle goes for a German Suplex, but Ohno stomps the bare foot of Riddle. Riddle still manages to come back with a German Suplex with a bridge for a near fall.

Riddle wildly kicks away at Ohno’s chest, but Ohno blocks one and bites Riddle’s big toe! Ohno kicks him and hits a running powerbomb for a near fall. Ohno goes to the top rope and hits a moonsault for a near fall. Ohno takes off his elbow pad, but Riddle avoids the elbow. Ohno takes him down and hits a senton splash. Ohno goes for a second one, but Riddle counters into a rear naked choke. Ohno quickly gets to the ropes. Ohno is begging him off and tries for a fist bump. Riddle viciously knees him and hits an incredible half nelson suplex! Riddle follows up with some vicious elbow strikes, and Ohno taps out!

Johnny Gargano vs. Ricochet (c)
The crowd is going wild. They lock up, and Ricochet wrenches the arm. Gargano fights out and twists the arm. Ricochet twists out, but Gargano takes him down with an arm drag and a roll-up for a two count. Gargano and Ricochet avoid kicks and are at a stalemate. They go for a test of strength, but quickly abort that. Gargano hits a headlock takevoer and cinches it in. Ricochet fights up and whips him off. Gargano shoulder blocks up, but Ricochet kips up. Gargano takes him down and they start rolling around doing pinning combinations. Gargano blocks a kick and flips him over. Ricochet lands on his feet after Gargano tried a hurricanrana. We’re at another impressive stalemate. The crowd loudly chants, “NXT.”
Ricochet extends his hand and asks which Johnny he’ll get. Gargano takes the hand and punches him. Gargano chops him in the corner twice. Ricochet slingshots over him and hits a head-scissor takeover followed by a dropkick. Ricochet goes for a plancha, but Gargano moves. Ricochet lands on the apron, scales the turnbuckles, and hits an amazing Asai Moonsault! Ricochet chops him into the ring. Gargano punches him back, but Ricochet cuts him off on the top rope. Ricochet teases a super hurricanrana, but Gargano slides out and slams him face-first off the top turnbuckle! Gargano punches away at Ricochet. Gargano then applies a modified neck vice with an arm trap. Ricochet fights out, sweeps the leg, and goes for a standing moonsault, but Gargano kicks him out of mid-air! Gargano hits an over the knee neckbreaker for a near fall.

Gargano begins to viciously stretch Ricochet out. Ricochet gets out, so Gargano chops the throat. Ricochet responds with a chop, but Gargano cuts him off. Gargano goes for a sunset flip, but Ricochet counters into a suplex attempt. Gargano gets out and slingshots into the ring, but Ricochet takes him down. They then fumble into a standing moonsault. They begin to trade forearms and chops. Ricochet clotheslines him down and hits a hurricanrana. Ricochet takes him down and hits a 619. Ricochet hits a springboard back elbow before hitting a northern lights suplex and rolling into another suplex for a near fall. They slowly get up, and Gargano gets out of a suplex. Ricochet elbows out, but Gargano avoids a springboard. Ricochet rolls, but Gargano counters into a powerbomb for a near fall. Gargano immediately transitions into a crossface. Ricochet rolls through, but Gargano keeps it held on. Ricochet manages to get a cover for a two count. Gargano quickly kicks him and goes for a slingshot DDT, but Ricochet blocks it. Ricochet dumps him out of the ring, and Gargano hits the apron hard! Ricochet hits a Fosbury Flop and gets him in the ring. Gargano boots him and goes for a roll-up, but Ricochet gets out. Ricochet hits a standing shooting star press followed by a moonsault off the ropes for a near fall! Ricochet goes to the top rope, but Gargano desperately grabs the leg. Gargano climbs the ropes, but Ricochet lifts him. Gargano elbows out and goes for a super hurricanrana, but Ricochet blocks it. Ricochet lifts him up, but Gargano counters into a super hurricanrana… but Ricochet lands on his feet!

They begin trading strikes before Ricochet finally grounds him with a backflip kick. Ricochet goes for a handspring back elbow, but Gargano counters into a crossface! Ricochet powers up and hits an exploder suplex into the corner! Another “NXT” chant fires up. Gargano rolls to the apron and to the floor. Ricochet then leaps over the ring post and connects with a summersault plancha! Ricochet gets him in the ring and hits a springboard 450 splash for a near fall! Unreal!

Ricochet goes to the top rope and goes for a shooting star press, but Gargano gets the knees up for a near fall! Gargano slowly gets up and superkicks Ricochet, sending him out of the ring. Gargano goes for a suicide dive, but Ricochet catches him! Gargano counters into a reverse hurricanrana, spiking Ricochet on his head! Gargano gets him in the ring and hits a slingshot DDT… but Ricochet kicks out! The crowd is absolutely losing their minds!

Gargano is frustrated and goes outside. Gargano rolls the protective mats back at ringside. Gargano goes for a hanging DDT on the floor, but then thinks better of it. Gargano gets in the ring, but Ricochet rolls him up for a near fall. Ricochet blocks a kick and viciously clotheslines him. Ricochet goes for a Phoenix Splash, but Gargano moves. Gargano superkicks him and goes for a DDT, but Ricochet counters into the Gargano Escape! Gargano eventually gets to the bottom rope. Gargano elbows him and stares at the exposed floor. Gargano pulls him out and hits a suplex on the exposed floor! A “Mamma Mia” chant picks up. Gargano gets him into the ring and stands on the apron. Gargano connects with a vicious slingshot DDT for the win!

Bianca Belair vs. Shayna Baszler (c)
They circle the ring and lock up. Baszler applies a side headlock, and Belair powers her to the corner before giving a clean break. They circle the ring and once again lock up. Belair powers her to the corner again before talking trash. Baszler turns her around and punches her down. Baszler mocks her taunt, so Belair takes her down. They shove each other before Baszler goes to a side headlock. Belair fights out, flips over her a few times, and shoulder blocks her down. Belair quickly slingshots over her and takes her down. Baszler rolls out of the ring to recover. Belair goes outside and bounces her off the apron. Belair gets in the ring, but Baszler pulls her to the ring post, grabs the ponytail, and pulls Belair shoulder-first into the ring post. Baszler gets in the ring and looks for a count-out. Belair grabs the ropes to get in, but the shoulder is too hurt. Belair just barely gets back in the ring.

Baszler punches away at her and viciously stretches the injured shoulder out. Baszler bends the arm back and stomps it! The referee checks on Belair and gives the ok to continue. Baszler viciously targets that injured shoulder and applies an arm bar. Baszler then hits an arm breaker. Baszler continues to attack the shoulder and applies an arm bar. Belair makes a brief comeback, but Baszler grabs the hair, forearms her, and knees her down for a near fall. Baszler smirks as she gets to her feet.
Baszler says she is overrated, so Belair makes a comeback. Belair hits a thrust to the midsection and connects with some shoulder blocks. Belair dropkicks her and connects with a spear for a near fall. Baszler grabs the arm, but Belair fights out. Baszler quickly stops her by getting the knees up on a splash. Baszler follows up with a big knee to the face for a near fall. Baszler gets to her feet and punches the shoulder. Belair fights back, but Baszler stops her. Baszler easily avoids some strikes, but Belair connects with a hair whip! Baszler has a cut on her midsection. Belair gets her up for a double-chickenwing slam, but Baszler rolls through and sends Belair into the referee! Belair quickly connects with the KOD and covers, but the referee is down.
Marina Shafir runs down, but Belair takes her down. Jessamyn Duke comes in, and Belair hits a double-chickenwing slam onto Shafir. Baszler then catches her with the Kirifuda Clutch. The referee comes to and checks on Belair. Belair fights up with Baszler on her back and breaks the hold! Belair then hits a deadlift suplex! Belair goes to the top rope and kicks Duke off the apron. Belair goes for a 450 splash, but Baszler moves and applies a Kirifuda Clutch. Belair fights up, but she collapses. Belair tries again and gets to her feet, but Baszler cinches in harder, causing Belair to collapse. The referee then calls for the bell.

Aleister Black vs. Tommaso Ciampa (c)
The bell rings, and they charge into a lock up before tussling out of the ring. Ciampa shoves him off, and they get back in the ring. Ciampa talks trash and slaps him. Black quickly hits a waistlock takevoer, but Ciampa quickly gets away. They circle the ring and lock up. Ciampa twists the arm and takes him down. Ciampa steps on the hair to keep Black down. Black fights up and takes him down with a headlock takeover. Ciampa rips at the ear to get out. Black quickly hits a back body drop and connects with another headlock takeover. Black cinches in the headlock, but Ciampa is quickly to his feet. Black punches back at him, but Ciampa knees him. Black lands on his feet off a back body drop and kicks him out of the ring. Black backflips off the middle rope and stays on his feet. Ciampa avoids a kick and looks up at him. Black puts him to the apron and connects with a diving summersault plancha!

Black gets him in the ring, blocks a kick, and sweeps the feet. Black kips up and hits a springboard moonsault for a near fall. Ciampa quickly gets out of the ring to recover. Ciampa pulls him out of the ring, but Black immediately kicks him down. Black elbows Ciampa and goes for a kick, but Ciampa blocks it. Ciampa slams the leg off the ring steps before whipping him into the ring steps. Black grabs his knee in pain. Ciampa then suplexes Black in such a way that the legs hit the ring steps! Ciampa smiles at the destruction. Ciampa gets him in the ring and viciously bends the left knee over his own and stretching it. Ciampa gets him to the ropes and attacks the knee. Ciampa then wraps the knee in the ropes and pulls on Black to stretch it more. Ciampa yells that Black is a “one trick pony.” Ciampa pulls him to the ring post and smashes the injured knee off the post. Ciampa then drops him knee first on the Spanish announce table. Ciampa applauds himself.

Ciampa takes a bottle of water, takes a sip, and Black viciously kicks him down. The water goes everywhere. Ciampa quickly gets back in the ring and dropkicks Black in the knee. Ciampa stands on the face and stomps the hand. Ciampa connects with an STO and continues to attack the left knee. Ciampa ties him in the tree of woe and stomps him. Ciampa continues to target the knee, but Black kicks him back with his good leg. Ciampa gets to the top rope, and Black sends him to the floor with a vicious kick. The momentum even sends Black over the top rope.

Both slowly get back in the ring, and Black makes a comeback, taking Ciampa down with a kick for a near fall. Ciampa catches him with an inside cradle, but Black kicks out. Black fights out of the Fairy Tale Ending and goes for Black Mass, but Ciampa avoids it. Ciampa goes for the Fairy Tale Ending again, but Black gets out and rolls him up for a two count. Black soon follows up with a bridged German Suplex for a two count. Black uses his foot to pull Ciampa up, but the leg gives out. Ciampa connects with a dragon screw on the injured leg and applies a single leg crab. Black rolls out and manages to apply a single leg crab of his own. Black’s leg gives out, and he is forced to release the hold. Black elbows Ciampa to the floor and springboards to the apron, but can’t follow up. Ciampa hits the Psycho Cutter on the apron and rolls him in the ring for a near fall. Black comes back with a knee to the face, but Ciampa quickly takes him down.

Ciampa gets out of the ring, so Black hits a moonsault off the middle turnbuckle. Black gets him in the ring and slips on some of the water spilled earlier at ringside. Ciampa then catches him with a Fairy Tale Ending while he gets back in the ring for a near fall.
Ciampa goes outside and rolls the protective mats back. Black then wipes him out with double knees onto the concrete! Black grabs his knee in pain. Black gets him in the ring and connects with Black Mass! Black crawls over for a pin, but Ciampa rolls over to avoid a pin. They both slowly get to their feet. Black goes for a move, but stops when Ciampa pulls the referee in front. Ciampa takes him down and hits a draping DDT. Ciampa immediately follows up with the Fairy Tale Ending… but Black kicks out! The crowd is chanting, “NXT.” Ciampa cannot believe it. Ciampa hits another Fairy Tale Ending, the third of the match. Ciampa goes for a fourth one, but Black gets out. Black kicks him, but his knee gives out. Ciampa hits a fourth Fairy Tale Ending for the win.

Tommaso Ciampa holds the NXT Championship up at the top of the ramp. NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano joins him and holds up his title. They then stand side by side and hold up their championships together.

Fantastic main event to cap off another fantastic #NXTTakeOver. I think there were so many great things on this show that the crowd was exhausted for a lot of it, but boy oh boy did they come alive for the finish. Ciampa and Black were awesome together. Great night of wrestling.
