In regards to rumors and reports making the rounds of WWE booking an Intercontinental Title match between champion CM Punk and JBL, PWInsider is reporting that was the direction WWE had planned as of a week ago. At one point the angle was planned to kick off at this past Monday’s Raw taping, but the segment was dropped due to time concerns. Punk has already qualified for the “Money in the Bank” Ladder match at WrestleMania 25 and possibly dropping the title to JBL before the event doesn’t appear to be out of the question if they continue to want to go in that direction. JBL teased in a WWE blog this week that he will be doing something “historic” at WrestleMania this year.
