While actual details of the meeting aren’t known at this time, PWInsider is reporting that Anthem/Impact Wrestling officials Ed Nordholm and Scott D’Amore met with several “high ranking” WWE executives last week at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
The meeting took place last week after Impact executives returned from the Wrestling MediaCon convention and just shortly before the crew headed down to Mexico City for Impact television tapings for Pop TV and other international outlets last week.
Vince McMahon reportedly wasn’t at the meeting, but members of Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s team were involved. A source described the meeting to Mike Johnson as a “general discussion” and a chance to get everyone in the same room.
Any kind of suggestion about a “negotiation” or WWE showing interesting in purchasing Impact Wrestling reportedly wasn’t on the table. Anthem officials, much like they did upon the purchase of the company, have reiterated the company or tape library isn’t for sale. WWE has worked with Impact over the last year in utilizing footage to be used for WWE Network programming, including plugs for Impact’s Global Wrestling Network.
