Dean Ambrose made his return to WWE television last night, marking his first appearance on RAW since last December when he suffered high-grade triceps tendon injury.
Ambrose returned during the final segment of RAW from Greensboro, with Seth Rollins setting up his big return to help corner him at SummerSlam this Sunday.
Rollins will challenge Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Intercontinental Championship in Brooklyn with Drew McIntyre in his corner live on the WWE Network.
Excerpt from Mike Tedesco’s RAW recap last night:
Ziggler tells Angle to hand him the contract and make it a Seth Rollins forfeit. Angle looks at the contract and hands it to Ziggler. Ziggler signs the contract and hands it back to Angle. All of a sudden, Seth Rollins’ music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. Rollins apologizes to the crowd for having to sit through a Ziggler therapy session. Rollins says he’s been here a while, but he didn’t want to come out before Ziggler signed the contract. If he came out before, Ziggler wouldn’t sign after hearing what he has to say. Rollins was delayed by travel issues, but not his travel issues. The clause about having a partner in his corner at SummerSlam is intentional. Rollins is tired of dealing with them 2-on-1. Since Ziggler has the Scottish psychopath in his corner, he figured he’d better have a lunatic in his.
The crowd comes unglued as Dean Ambrose’s music hits! Ambrose comes out with a shorter hair and a full beard! McIntyre throws the desk out of the ring. Rollins and Ambrose get in the ring and attack Ziggler and McIntyre. Rollins superkicks McIntyre, and Ambrose finishes him off with Dirty Deeds! The crowd is on their feet for Ambrose! Rollin then signs the contract.
