WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross revealed on Twitter over the weekend that he suffered a broken rib after taking a bump at ringside during New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Special that aired live on AXS TV from San Francisco at the Cow Palace.
Ross was knocked over in a spot that saw Jay White whip Juice Robinson into the guard railing on Saturday night. He reiterated on Twitter that the spot was not planned or part of a storyline and ended up having a sleepless night as a result of the injury.
According to a report by The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online, Ross was very upset as he requested they keep the wrestlers away from fighting near the broadcast table noting the barricades around the ring weren’t connected.
For the record, the ‘bump’ I took at ringside at #G1SanFrancisco was not storyline driven matter nor was it discussed.
I think I broke a rib.
