The civil trial between WWE physical Dr. Chris Amann against Phil “CM Punk” Brooks and Scott “Colt Cabana” Colton officially started on Tuesday morning in Cook County, Illinois.

According to a report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Amann testified on his behalf yesterday and was described as being “short and curt.” His testimony would include comments he received online criticizing him after Punk’s podcast with Cabana went live.

Amann was later described as getting “upset” when he was recounting the situation involving tweets and internet coverage of Punk’s very public comments that took place on Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast back in November of 2014.

The jury also reportedly listened to the entire podcast episode that was released in 2014, which featured Punk going into detail about his departure from WWE earlier that year in January and his claims about Amann’s lack of medical care backstage.

Punk claimed Amann had falsely diagnosed a lump that “grew to the size of a baseball” and later turned into a staph infection. Punk also claimed Amann failed to treat his concussion symptoms saying that he was only prescribed antibiotics as treatment.

Punk, who is preparing for his second UFC fight on June 9, was in attendance in court along with Cabana. Gregory Pratt of the Chicago Tribune was also in attendance and issued the following tweets about the atmosphere in court yesterday.
