Big Cass retuned to in-ring action at a WWE live event on Memorial Day in Fayetteville, teaming with The Miz as they took on Daniel Bryan and Tye Dillinger, with Big Cass being pinned by Daniel Bryan in the end.
Big Cass’ return to the ring comes after it was originally reported that he may have suffered a legitimate leg injury in Amsterdam during his match with Daniel Bryan. Following news of the injury it was further being reported that this may have part of an angle that began speculation as to whether the injury was actually legit.
After WWE returned to the United States, the company announced Big Cass had been pulled from the Money in the Bank Qualifying Match for the May 22 edition of SmackDown Live in which Daniel Bryan was put in a second chance match against U.S. Champion Jeff Hardy to further the injury based storyline.
