Dolph Ziggler walks out to kick off the show tonight in Bakersfield.
We see a highlight from last week where Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan booked AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn for the WWE Championship at Fastlane.
Back live, commentary talks about Shane McMahon booking Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin tonight with the winner entering that title match at Fastlane.
Ziggler awaits the arrival of Baron Corbin. Corbin’s music plays and he doesn’t come out. The music restarts as Ziggler talks with the ring announcer. Backstage, we see Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn attacking Corbin. They walk away and Corbin asks them if that is it. They walk back and Corbin tries to fight them off. They eventually get the better of Corbin and throw him against a door as Owens stomps away over him. Owens says that is one down and one more to go. Owens and Zayn appear to be heading to the arena.
We go back to Ziggler in the ring. Owens and Zayn walk out on stage. Zayn exits the stage area and starts walking through the crowd. Owens heads to the ring. Ziggler jumps out and cuts off Zayn in the crowd. Owens runs up and attacks Ziggler. Owens is throwing big forearms on Ziggler as Zayn throws right hands. Owens with big knees to Ziggler. Zayn sends Ziggler into a trash can in the crowd. Owens and Zayn toss Ziggler over the barricade and back to the ringside area to continue the attack.
Ziggler is trying to fight back, but Owens eventually gets the better of him. Owens picks up Ziggler and Zayn connects with his Helluva Kick. Owens claps at Ziggler. Corbin runs back out and takes out Owens. Zayn attacks Corbin. Owens and Zayn double team Corbin. Owens sends Corbin back first into the steel barricade by the stage. WWE officials run out and break up the brawling. Corbin is coughing and trying to recover. We see highlights of the attack by Owens and Zayn on Ziggler at ringside earlier.
Owens and Zayn walk to the back.
Well that was a very interesting way to open the show tonight, wasn't expecting them to open with Ziggler vs. Corbin, enjoyed Owens and Zayn attacking both to stop the match from evening happening #SDLive

Non-Title Match
Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair w/ Becky Lynch and Naomi vs. Sarah Logan w/ The Riott Squad
Before the match, Becky Lynch and Naomi walk out to join Charlotte at ringside.
Logan goes for a lock up and Charlotte pushes her away. Another lock up and Charlotte pushes her away for a second time. Logan with a big takedown. Charlotte fights to her feet and Logan with another big takedown. Logan with a third takedown on Charlotte. Charlotte with an ugly looking arm drag on Logan that’s followed up with a big boot.
Sarah Logan is still pretty rough in the ring…that has to get pretty annoying for the main roster ladies at some point #SDLive

Back live, Charlotte dumps Logan near the corner. Logan with a quick chop to Charlotte. Charlotte responds with chops of her own. Charlotte with even more chops. Logan with a big tackle to the lower back of Charlotte that results in a two count. Logan with a snap butterfly suplex on Charlotte for another two count. Charlotte with a high knee to Logan in the corner. Logan fires back with double knees to Charlotte. Logan with big stomps to Charlotte and follows with big right hands. Logan works the left arm of Charlotte. Logan drops Charlotte with a clothesline when she fights to her feet. Charlotte with a big kick, chop, misses a big boot and Logan dumps her backwards with a back suplex for yet another two count. Logan sends Charlotte face first into the second turnbuckle. Charlotte bounces the face of Logan off the top turnbuckle and connects with the Natural Selection for the win.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
After the match, Becky Lynch and Naomi jump in the ring and celebrate with Charlotte. Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan are not happy as they help Sarah Logan out of the ring.
Good match between Charlotte Flair and Sarah Logan tonight, it started real rough due to the inexperience of Logan still shining quite bright on the main roster still, they were able to get through the problems quick and produce a fun match tonight #SDLive

Backstage, Shane McMahon confronts Daniel Bryan and isn’t happy with what went down earlier tonight involving Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. He books Dolph Ziggler vs. Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin vs. Kevin Owens. If Ziggler or Corbin win, the championship match at Fastlane will become a Fatal 5 Way. Shane also adds that if either Owens or Zayn interference in each others matches, they are out of the title match.

WWE celebrates Black History Month looking at the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
Baron Corbin vs. Kevin Owens
Per the stipulation, if Corbin wins tonight, he’s entered into the WWE Championship match at Fastlane. If Zayn interferes, Owens is out of the title match.
Owens charges in and throws body shots at Corbin. Corbin with kicks to Corbin. Corbin with big elbows from the corner. Owens rolls out of the ring to recover. Back inside, Owens catches Corbin with a big boot in the corner. Owens stands up on the second rope in the corner and Corbin connects with a huge right hand. Owens slowly rolls out of the ring. Corbin catches up and sends Owens chest first into the ring barricade. Corbin bounces the face of Owens off the barricade as well. Owens sends Corbin into the ring post. Owens tosses Corbin back inside and throws a quick body shot to the ribs. Owens connects with a cannonball in the corner as Corbin rolls away to recover near the corner.

Back live, Corbin takes out Owens with a huge clothesline that results in a two count after he rolls out of the ring and rolls back in. Corbin props Owens up on the top turnbuckle. Corbin with rights and Owens knocks him down off the ropes. Corbin misses a charge in the corner hitting the ring post and Owens rolls him up for a close two count. Corbin catches Owens with Deep Six. Owens with a superkick, tosses Corbin to the ropes and Corbin hangs on. Owens charges and Corbin hits End of Days. Corbin pins Owens!
Winner and advancing to Fastlane: Baron Corbin
After the match, Corey Graves puts over how the WWE Championship match at Fastlane is now a Fatal Four Way match featuring AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and now Corbin. Backstage, we see a shot of a very upset Sami Zayn watching on a TV.
Real physical match between Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens tonight, nice to see Corbin pick up the victory and advance to the #WWEFastlane main event, they really have to start doing something with Corbin again after cooling off on his character in recent months #SDLive

Bobby Roode’s United States Championship Open Challenge is up next.

Before the match, Roode says he made a promise. That promise was to become the greatest United States Champion in history. Roode brings up John Cena defending this title week in and week out against anyone. It gives him great pride and respect that the United States Open Challenge will continue. Roode says the open challenge is for anyone in the locker room, but for tonight he’s hoping the man that accepts his challenge meets him face-to-face rather than coming out here and hitting him with an RKO out of no where.
Roode looks to the stage.
Here comes Randy Orton.
When Orton reaches the ring, Jinder Mahal walks out. He introduces “The Viper” Randy Orton to the audience. Mahal says the crowd might respect him, but he wishes he could say the same about the Smackdown locker room. He talks about Orton getting voted #9 on the Top 10 list last week. Mahal brings up beating Orton for the WWE Championship. He adds that he respects Orton. The crowd chants “RKO” loudly.
Mahal says the Smackdown locker room thinks Orton already peaked. Orton grabs a mic. He doesn’t give a damn about any Top 10 list. “Never will.” Mahal enters the ring and doesn’t believe that. He talks about Roode even outranking Orton on the list. Roode brings up Mahal not even making the list. “Nobody here respects you,” adds Roode. Roode says he respects Orton, but thinks he was only #9 because the roster is sick of being attacked out of no where.
Orton hits an RKO on Samil Singh. Jinder Mahal with a Khallas to Orton and Roode.

I actually didn't mind not getting an Open Challenge match tonight, they did a good job of showing the roster frustrations with Randy Orton that was reflected in his Top 10 list ranking, at least they are working with the list? #SDLive

Here comes The New Day. The ring is filled with three tables covered in pancakes. Big E wants to break the world record for pancake eating. He starts shoving pancakes in his mouth. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin interrupt and walk out with mics in hand.

Gable says this is awesome and talks about how he envisioned being involved with things like this when he was training for the Olympics. Benjamin suggests they open up an IHOP and leave the wrestling to the serious competitors. Xavier Woods reminds them how they set the record for the longest reign as WWE World Tag Team Champions. He wonders who even wants to see Gable and Benjamin as champions. Benjamin hands Gable a pancake and Gable throws it on the mat. Benjamin throws a pancake down as well. Big E grabs one of the pans and tells them to stop. Gable has some news. “Nobody likes pancakes.” Benjamin says from now on we are eating waffles and tosses the pancakes up.
Big E is not happy. A WWE referee hits the ring to start the match next.

The New Day vs. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin
Back live, Kofi Kingston catches Shelton Benjamin with a kick in the corner. Benjamin with a big lifting knee to Kingston. Tag to Chad Gable who stomps away over Kingston. Kingston is trying to tag in Big E, but Gable catches him with a big rolling kick to the face. Tag to Benjamin who throws rights at Kingston. Gable tags in and kicks away at Kingston in the corner. Tag back to Benjamin. Kingston kicks Benjamin and sends Gable out. Kingston nearly tags in Big E when Gable pulls Big E off the ring. Benjamin levels Xavier Woods on the outside. Kingston with a jumping stomp that catches Benjamin. Hot tag to Big E and tag to Gable. Big E with over head suplexes to Gable. Big E with a belly-to-belly, shakes the hips and splashes over Gable. Gable with his release german suplex on Big E. Tag to Benjamin. The referee didn’t see it being distracted by Woods. Kingston kicks Benjamin out. Gable tosses Kingston out. Big E tags in Kingston. Big E has Gable up on his shoulder and Kingston jumps off the corner dropping Gable with a facebuster for the win.
Winners: The New Day
Great tag match between New Day and Gable/Benjamin tonight, it's pretty amazing to see how popular New Day remains as an act on the main roster all these years later #SDLive

Backstage, Renee Young catches up with Dolph Ziggler and brings up not seeing him much around here. Ziggler says he’s tried to pick his spots. He talks about loving this and it’s about doing what he was put on this planet to do. Ziggler calls Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn cowards. He says the only reason he’s here right now is because he wants to main event WrestleMania. “And I’ll be damned if I don’t walk in there as WWE Champion.”

Backstage, Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Usos cut a promo about how no other tag teams have been able to take them out. The camera backs out showing The Bludgeon Brothers hitting a flat screen backstage with the Usos promo on it and posing.
We see Sami Zayn at the gorilla position warming up when Kevin Owens walks up apologizing. He says Zayn can’t lose. “Don’t let me down.” Zayn said Owens let him down earlier tonight. He adds they won’t be working together at Fastlane.
Ziggler is out next. The main event is up next.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Sami Zayn

The bell rings and here we go. Ziggler charges Zayn in the corner. Ziggler with a big right hand to Zayn and follows it up with a swinging neckbreaker. Ziggler with a splash in the corner and another neckbreaker on Zayn for a two count. Back inside, Zayn pushes Ziggler to the corner and throws some big forearms. Zayn catapults Ziggler throat first into the second rope. Zayn with a big chop to Ziggler in the corner, catches Ziggler with an elbow, boot to the face and Ziggler catches Zayn with a huge dropkick when he jumps off.

Back live, Ziggler is fighting to his feet throwing elbows when Zayn cuts him off with a knee and then a big clothesline coming off the ropes. Ziggler catches Zayn with his jumping DDT. We see a shot of Kevin Owens watching backstage. Ziggler connects with the Fameasser on Ziggler for a close two count. Ziggler is up top and pushes Zayn away. Zayn trips up Ziggler crotching him on the top turnbuckle. Zayn with right hands as Ziggler leans back against the steel ring post. Zayn is up top with Ziggler, Ziggler with rights, Zayn with rights, Zayn with his exploder on Ziggler off the top rope and they both land with a thud! Zayn with rights. Ziggler jumps, Zayn catches him and catapults Ziggler to the corner. Ziggler side steps a Helluva Kick attempt and hits the Zig Zag! Zayn kicks out. Ziggler is shocked. Ziggler is back up first. Zayn is up. Zayn sends Ziggler shoulder first into the ring post. Zayn sends Ziggler to the corner again. Ziggler rolls up Zayn for a close two count. Zayn with an exploder to Ziggler in the corner. Ziggler with a superkick and gets the pinfall.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Ziggler is now headed to WWE Fastlane to compete for the WWE Championship against AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin in a Fatal 5 Way.
After the match, Dolph Ziggler gets up on the announce table and celebrates his win.
