“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
They show a video of some highlights from the Elimination Chamber. Alberto Del Rio beat the Big Show to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. His next stop will be WrestleMania. Jack Swagger’s Elimination Chamber victory is also highlight. He’s going to try to reclaim America. Then they show The Rock unveiling the new WWE Championship on Raw.
Ricardo Rodriguez is in the ring, and he introduces Alberto Del Rio, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Del Rio says that he retained his championship at Elimination Chamber last Sunday, so that means he’s going to WrestleMania. He also found out who his opponent will be: the winner of the Elimination Chamber match, Jack Swagger. Swagger has a new mission, friend, and attitude. In this new attitude, Swagger believes he is everything that is right about America, and he is everything that is wrong with America. Del Rio saw his State of the Union on Raw and his YouTube videos. Swagger claims that immigrants are taking job opportunities from people. Del Rio says immigrants built this country. These are hard working people trying to provide their families with a better life. That’s why this country is so great. Del Rio points to the title, and he says this is the result of his hard work. It’s the American Dream. Swagger claims to be a real American, but to Del Rio he’s a real jackass. Del Rio says if the immigrants only want handouts, then Swagger should come out so he can lay his hand out all over his face.
Randy Orton’s music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. Orton begins to talk, but he stops to listen to the crowd chant his name. Orton says he’ll do his absolute best to stay calm, cool, and collected. Something was taken from him this past Sunday at the Elimination Chamber. He was so close to getting the opportunity to regain the championship at WrestleMania, but Jack Swagger took it from him. Part of him respects Swagger for what he did because he would have done the exact same thing. However, an even bigger part of him wants to take out his rage and aggression on Swagger tonight. Orton says he knows it’s Del Rio versus Swagger at WrestleMania, so this is what he’s asking for. He wants Del Rio to step aside just for tonight because Swagger is his. If they have to fight about it, then so be it.
Booker T’s music hits, and the General Manager of Smackdown comes out to the stage. Booker says this isn’t how he saw Smackdown going tonight. He had some plans. One plan was to have a Champion versus Champion match. Alberto Del Rio, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, will go head-to-head with Wade Barrett, the WWE Intercontinental Champion. As far as Jack Swagger goes, he will be going one-on-one against Randy Orton. Booker says Orton got his wish tonight, now can you dig that SUCKA?
