KANSAS CITY, Mo. ? In his first singles match in seven months, Royal Rumble winner Edge’s hopes for a victory over Batista were spoiled due to a surprise attack by World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker. And adding insult to injury, Chris Jericho blasted The Rated-R Superstar with a Codebreaker!

Edge vs. Batista ended in No Contest
In his first singles match since winning Royal Rumble, Edge took on the angry Animal, Batista. At first, it looked as though Batista was simply going to walk away from the bout ? much like he did in his WWE Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match against CM Punk two weeks ago. However, The Ultimate Opportunist chided The Animal into staying for battle.

When the match carried on, it looked like the Rumble winner had The Animal right where he wanted after a well-targeted spear. However, before The Ultimate Opportunist could capitalize, The Deadman came calling, viciously chokeslamming Edge. The assault was in retaliation for being speared by Edge last week.

Next, Chris Jericho stunned Edge with a brutal Codebreaker. And, this wasn’t the first time the two former tag team champions came face-to-face during the night. At the start of the show, Jericho was the recipient of a painful spear.

Kane def. Dolph Ziggler
Despite wrapping Kane in a strength-sapping sleeper hold, The Big Red Monster was able to recover and chokeslam Ziggler for the win. After the match, Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre tried to make a statement with an attempted DDT. However, Kane was able to avoid the dastardly deed. On Sunday, both will collide for the coveted Intercontinental Title at WWEElimination Chamber. (Preview)

Cryme Tyme def. Caylen Croft & Trent Barreta
With WWE NXT on the horizon, some of the industry’s hottest young Superstars are looking to make their mark. But, free agents Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta were stopped in their tracks when big Shad crushed Barreta with an STO. (More on WWE NXT)

CM Punk & Luke Gallows def. R-Truth & John Morrison
After John Morrison landed a kick to the steel ring post ? instead of intended target CM Punk ? The Friday Night Delight was reeling in pain. Seizing the opportunity, Punk went to work on Morrison’s ankle. With Morrison injured, the ref stopped the bout, calling for the bell. However, Punk continued to go after the former Intercontinental Champion. Mayhem then broke loose when R-Truth came to the rescue, followed by Rey Mysterio. Next, Luke Gallows got involved, destroying Truth with the Gallows Pole. In the end, The Straight Edge Society left only carnage in its wake. On Sunday, Punk and Truth will cross paths again in the Elimination Chamber. (Preview)

The Hart Dynasty def. Matt Hardy, The Great Khali & Maria
In this Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match, it was Natayla who earned the victory for her team by brutally clotheslining Maria. After the destruction, Matt Hardy did the gentlemanly thing by helping his Valentine back to her feet.

Ezekiel Jackson is coming to SmackDown.

Women’s Champion Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool announced
On next week’s SmackDown, Women’s Champion Mickie James will face Michelle McCool in a title match, featuring SmackDown Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero as guest referee.
