“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
The RAW video plays, and we’re brought into the arena to see a big pyrotechnics display. The crowd is amped up for this show. Tonight, Goldberg will return to Monday Night RAW for the first time in twelve years. Goldberg’s image elicits a huge reaction from the crowd. Lita will also have exclusive interviews with Charlotte and Sasha Banks.
Kevin Owens’ music hits, and he gets a huge reaction. Owens comes out with Chris Jericho accompanying him. Jericho is dressed to compete while Owens is not. A “Y2J” chant breaks out. Replays are shown of Jericho losing to Seth Rollins last week. If Jericho had won his match, he’d be added to the WWE Hell in a Cell main event. Owens calls the crowd “stupid idiots” and says their chants can wait. There is no denying it anymore: Mick Foley has a personal vendetta against him. Why else would he risk shortening his career by forcing him to defend his WWE Universal Title against an undeserving Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell? A “Foley” chant fires up, so Jericho repeatedly says, “Quiet” over and over again before the crowd starts booing him. Jericho says Foley does have a vendetta against himself and Owens. Everyone is saying it’s a reward to be inside Hell in a Cell. It’s a nail in the coffin. It’s the most barbaric and dangerous structure ever created in WWE. It’s violent and evil. The fact that Owens is in this match – the match that ended Foley’s career – is a travesty of justice and proves that Foley is a stupid idiot. Owens agrees with Jericho and says he has more braincells left than Foley. Owens calls himself a “thinking man’s champion.” He’s smart enough to know how to make sure Hell in a Cell won’t break him like it broke Foley. The only person whose career will get shorter is Seth Rollins because he’s getting into the Cell with him. Years from now, everyone will still be talking about the hell he put Rollins through while still calling this, “The Kevin Owens Show.”
Jericho says it’ll still be the “Chris and Kevin Show” because he should have been in the match with Owens. It’s obvious he can beat Rollins. Jericho lists names of legends he’s beaten like Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock (on the same night). Jericho even beat Undertaker for the World Title. If he can beat them, he can beat Rollins. The reason why he didn’t beat Rollins is obviously due to bad officiating by the referee. Owens agrees and can’t understand how the guy still works here. Jericho asks if they know what that means. If you’re not good at your job and do things the wrong way, “You just made the list!” Owens says at Hell in a Cell, Rollins will be having a swan song. He’s already replaced him as the man and in two weeks, he’ll retire him.
Seth Rollins’ music hits, and he comes out to a big reception from the crowd. Rollins begins to speak, but he’s cut off by a massive “Rollins” chant. Rollins says if Jericho is going to put something on the list, he can start with that terrible scarf. Jericho is flabbergasted. Rollins says he can add his rinky-dink tattoos, his haircut, creepy mustache, and trunks before calling him “sparkle crotch.” Jericho cannot believe what he’s hearing. Jericho says, “I am going to say this one time: I am not ‘sparkle crotch.'” Rollins tells Jericho to save it and thinks he’s already on the list. Jericho says, “Not yet, but you will be.” Rollins chuckles at that and says his friendship with Owens should be on “The List of Jericho.” Maybe Jericho considers a friend to be someone who sits idly by two weeks in a row while you get Pedigreed. Owens says this is why Rollins has no friends at all. They’re still very good friends because they’ve talked about what happened these past few weeks. One of them needs to stay strong for the team. Rollins says Owens stays strong while Jericho remains weak. Jericho yells that he is a six-time World Champion and the best in the world at what he does. There’s a reason why he has “G.O.A.T.” written on his trunks. Rollins says it should say, “Sparkle ass.” Jericho says he can beat Rollins anytime, anyplace, anywhere. Rollins says Denver is as good a place as any and right now is the best time.
Rollins starts to walk down to the ring before stopping and asking what Owens will do. Will Jericho send him to the back and prove he can do it on his own or will Owens be the world’s ugliest cheerleader and watch him get Pedigreed a third week in a row. Jericho says Owens is going to leave while Owens says he’ll stay. Owens asks if he really wants him to leave. Jericho says he knows what’s happened these last few weeks, which is why it’s best he leave right now. The crowd lets out an “Ooh.” Jericho says Owens claims it’s better for the team, but he knows what he’s doing now. Owens is a champion, but he’s a six-time champion. He knows all the tricks. It doesn’t change the fact that Owens is his best friend and will have his back. Jericho has to remind Rollins and the stupid idiots watching tonight that he’s Chris Jericho. Owens says he can beat Rollins on his own and will be here in spirit. They hug. Rollins makes his way to the ring. This match is next.

Charlotte says that’s just facts and mentions she’s the greatest in the WWE, male or female. Lita mentions Sasha not being 100% heading into SummerSlam. Charlotte says she’s a two-time Women’s Champion and has won twelve straight PPVs. She’s durable and doesn’t whine about being hurt. A win is a win. Lita says if she’s going to prove herself as the best in the industry, isn’t it better to beat the best at 100%? Charlotte says Lita is looking at this the wrong way. That’s why she’s the best because she’s 100% all the time. Lita says she’s entitled to play by her own rules, but does it bother her that the WWE Universe supports Sasha and they’ll be in her hometown. Charlotte says Sasha will need her hometown. That’s why she pities Sasha. She never needed the WWE Universe cheering for her. She’s genetically superior. It’s in her blood. No one knows what it’s like to walk in her shoes. That’s why Sasha needs the WWE Universe. Maybe Sasha won’t be 100% that day, but she will be. She doesn’t just talk the talk – she walks the walk. Sasha may have beaten her in L.A., but she better believe that she’ll be the woman to beat. She’ll be a three-time Women’s Champion. Nothing will stop her.

Now, as I said, it’s been twelve years, there’s a lot of things I’ve missed in this business. The biggest thing that I miss – other than kicking ass – is being a superhero for the kids all around the world. In this day and age, there ain’t enough of us. So going around the world promoting the video game gave me that opportunity. I could go to Germany, I could go to Toronto, and I could go up to the kids and I could shake their hands. I could see in their eyes that I was Goldberg.” Another loud “Goldberg” chant breaks out. “It gave me… Ok, thank you. It gave me the opportunity to be that superhero again, but unfortunately somewhere along the way, I created a little drama back here in WWE. What that did was it made me think. I thought long and hard, and I think that maybe it’s better left alone. Maybe I keep it in the video game.” The crowd boos and starts a “NO” chant.
“But then, Brock Lesnar challenged me to a fight, but he didn’t have the balls to do it himself. He let Paul Heyman, his fat little stooge, do it for him. So that got me thinking, Simon, what would you do?” A “YES” chant breaks out. Goldberg smiles and continues on. “And I thought to myself maybe… maybe I have one more ass kicking left in me. I thought to myself, ‘Maybe I have one badass spear left in me.’ Then I thought to myself, ‘Maybe I have one last devastating jackhammer left in me.’ So, Brock Lesnar, not only does that mean that you’re next… but most importantly it means Brock Lesnar, YOU’RE LAST!” Goldberg tosses the microphone down and walks off to thunderous applause from the crowd. Goldberg takes a child out from the crowd and lifts him up. Goldberg puts him back and has his son come over the barricade. Goldberg puts him on his shoulder and poses with his son. His wife is seen holding back tears.
Brock Lesnar will be on RAW next week in Minneapolis. Goldberg continues to shake hands with fans and celebrate his triumphant return. Goldberg poses at the top of the ramp to loud cheers and “Goldberg” chants, as the show goes off the air.
