The show opens in Brooklyn with The Miz and Maryse heading to the ring.
We see a recap from SummerSlam on Sunday showing Maryse slipping brass knuckles to Miz during his match against Daniel Bryan to help him pick up the win.
The Miz and Daniel Bryan Face Off
The Miz closes his eyes and bows his head along with Maryse. Miz said he wanted to take in that reaction from the fans. “Two nights ago at SummerSlam, something happened.” He says he has a family to think about and wants to make this really short. Miz says it is with a heavy heart and utmost sadness…Maryse consoles him. He regrets he has to announce his retirement. The fans in Brooklyn chant “YES” at this. Miz adds, “…of ever facing Daniel Bryan again.” He says the eight year saga between them has come to an end.
Miz says he did everything he said he was going to do and that was beat Daniel Bryan in front of a sold out Barclays Center. “Don’t get me wrong, Daniel Bryan gave me everything he had. He punched me 100 times. But 100 Daniel Bryan punches don’t amount to one Miz punch. You are looking at the hardest punch in WWE.” Miz says he pinned Daniel Bryan, 1-2-3, in front of his sexy wife and his baby daughter. He says it is now time to start his new life and that is watch the latest episode of “Miz and Mrs” after Smackdown Live.
Here comes Daniel Bryan. Bryan immediately shouts “COWARD” at Miz. Miz tries to talk and Bryan continues to call him a coward as he walks down the ramp. Miz says it will never say “coward in the record books.” He says Bryan just has to deal with the fact that he isn’t as good as Miz and that he will never have a chance to go up against him again. Bryan tells Miz to shut up for once in his life. He says Miz can mock his retirement and convince everyone he didn’t cheat to win. Bryan says he will expose Miz for what he really is and “that’s a wannabe Hollywood star cosplaying as a professional wrestler.” He says Miz can’t retire yet. Maryse interrupts and tells Daniel to just retire and leave. She adds he should just change his last name to Daniel Bella. Brie Bella’s music hits. Maryse bails when Brie hits the ring. Brie slaps The Miz. Bryan clotheslines Miz over the top rope. Bryan grabs a mic and says he just talked to GM Paige. He announces that at Hell in a Cell, he’s in a match with Miz and it isn’t just the two of them. Bryan announces it will be a mixed tag match featuring Bryan and Brie vs. Miz and Maryse. Loud “YES” chant reaction to this.
Awesome opening segment, Maryse dropping the "Daniel Bella" suggestion was great, they did an excellent job building up this couples feud #SDLive

Backstage, The Miz and Maryse are looking for Paige. Paige walks up and Miz asks is this how you treat the stars of the highest rated reality show on the USA Network? He says she is a worse GM than Daniel Bryan. Paige says the mixed tag match is still on and points out Miz getting punched in the face by Brie. She adds the match will be “awesome.”

Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton
Lock up and Orton throws rights at Hardy in the corner. Hardy pushes Orton away and throws right hands of his own. Hardy is going up top and Orton pushes him into the post.
-Commercial Break-
During the break, we see Orton dumping Hardy over the announce table at ringside. Back live, Hardy throws a big forearm as Orton charges into the corner. Hardy connects with Whisper in the Wind from the corner as well. Hardy with an inverted atomic drop and then leg drop low blow. Hardy with a dropkick and Twist of Fate combo on Orton. Hardy heads to the top turnbuckle and Orton crotches him. Orton puts his finger through a pierced hole in Hardy’s ear and pulls on it. Hardy dumps Orton down and low blow kicks him.
The referee calls for the bell.
Winner via DQ: Randy Orton
After the match, Jeff Hardy dropkicks Randy Orton out of the ring and then comes flying off the ring apron catching Orton. Hardy then tosses Orton over the announce table. Orton with uppercuts and Hardy fires back with a jumping forearm shot. Hardy sends Orton face first into the ring post and then tosses him over the barricade. Hardy and Orton fight into the crowd. Hardy grabs a steel chair and cracks it over the back of Orton. Hardy hits Orton in the gut with the chair and cracks it over his back a few more times. Hardy dumps Orton over a table and hits him in the head with a camera. Hardy looks up and sees some boxes stacked up. Hardy climbs to the top of the boxes and connects with a Swanton Bomb over Orton crashing through the table! Hardy sits up laughing over Orton.
Very good match between Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton tonight, I honestly wasn't expecting much and really enjoyed Hardy just blatantly going for the low blow, Hardy took a crazy bump on Sunday night and did another tonight #SDLive

Backstage, Renee Young is with The Bar. Sheamus and Cesaro hint they want a shot at the winners of tonight’s tag team title rematch. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows walk up putting on glasses and using fake accents. This sets up the teams facing off next week.
Naomi vs. Peyton Royce w/ Billie Kay
Before the match, The IIconics play a game about something loud, obnoxious and filled with lights. Peyton guesses Brooklyn. Billie says Brooklyn is more like a dumpster fire. Peyton figures out Billie is actually talking about her opponent tonight.
-Commercial Break-
Back live, Naomi catches Peyton with a kick to the chest after avoiding a series of spin kick attempts. Noami drops a leg over Peyton. Peyton rolls out of the ring, but eats a dropkick from Naomi under the bottom rope. Billie Kay distracts Naomi allowing Peyton to land a big kick to the head/neck of Naomi. Peyton with a cover and Noami kicks out after two. Peyton chokes Noami with her boot in the corner. Peyton throws knees to the back of Naomi and then wraps her arms around her body. Naomi with big kicks to Peyton and follows it up with a big dropkick. Naomi kicks Billie on the outside and sends her face first into the post. This allows Peyton to send Naomi into the post into a fisherman’s suplex for the pinfall.
Winner: Peyton Royce

Backstage, Big E is getting his ribs taped up. He pulls out some actual ribs and eats them. Kofi Kingson says New Day started their reign in Brooklyn. Xavier Woods predicts they will capture tag team championship gold again tonight.
A video package runs highlighting Carmella vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair from SummerSlam. Charlotte walked away the new champion on Sunday after the triple threat. The package also focuses on Becky Lynch attacking Charlotte.
We will hear from Becky Lynch next.

Becky Lynch heads to the ring and does not look happy.
Becky Lynch addresses Charlotte Flair
Becky grabs the mic and says she deserves to be standing here as the women’s champion. She says that moment was stolen from her and Charlotte deserved what she got. Becky says Sunday was not about Charlotte Flair. “It was about one woman: me.”
Becky says she was able to get over Charlotte getting added to the match at SummerSlam because it was her opportunity to win that championship regardless. She pictured raising that title over her head, that she was a top star and put the women’s division on the map.
Becky questions if the fans are really behind her. She didn’t see any #GiveBeckyAChance tweets. Becky says the fans didn’t boycott SummerSlam when Charlotte got added to the match. She points out the fans cheering when Charlotte won.
Becky says the fans never refer to her as one of the greatest WWE stars of all time. “Somehow I’ve been made an afterthought.” She doesn’t buy the praise. Becky says the fans are all talk and opinions. She’s had enough of the opinions and decided to take some action of her own. Becky says that referee counting to three broke her out of a trance. She realized Charlotte has been holding her back and would steal her spotlight for the last time. “I say I deserve it. I say that I’m the best.” No one can tell her different.
Here comes the new Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair to interrupt. Charlotte takes off her championship and removes her jacket. She hits the ring and tackles Becky. Charlotte is throwing right hands over Becky. Becky turns Charlotte over and starts dropping rights of her own. Charlotte dumps Becky out of the ring. Becky kicks Charlotte and jumps over the barricade. Charlotte pulls her back over. WWE officials run out. Paige sends the women’s division into the ring to break up the fight going on.
Charlotte breaks free and tackles Becky in the corner. The women’s division continues to pull them apart. Becky breaks free and gets her hands on Charlotte again. Charlotte sends Becky through the ropes. Charlotte pushes Naomi and Lana aside and tackles Becky jumping off the ring apron. Charlotte is held back again as we head to a break.

Andrade “Cien” Almas & Zelina Vega vs. Rusev & Lana
We start with Almas and Rusev. Almas throws chops over the chest of Rusev. Rusev levels Almas and drops a series of elbows quickly. Almas with kicks and elbows to Rusev in the corner. Almas with an elbow in the corner to Rusev. Almas catches Rusev in a triangle armbar over the ropes. Almas springboards off the top rope and Rusev catches him with a flush kick. Tag to Lana and Vega is now in. Lana jumps off Almas to catch Vega.
-Commercial Break-
Back live, Vega tosses Lana to the corner and connects with a step up kick. Vega with a modified 619 into a locked submission. Lana breaks free and Vega gets a two count off a pinfall attempt. Lana counters and gets Vega down into a pinfall for two. Lana kicks Vega away and tags in Rusev. Here comes Almas who eats a shoulder block, kick to the chest and eats a charge from Rusev in the corner. Rusev with a jumping spin kick that levels Almas. Almas with a spinning back fist. Rusev is down in the corner and eats huge double knees to the face. Rusev kicks out off a pinfall attempt. Lana tackles Vega. Almas tries to use a steel chair, but Aiden English shows up and takes it away. Rusev connects with a big kick on Almas. Rusev gets the Accolade applied. Almas taps out.

AJ Styles addresses Samoa Joe
Young is on a stage just near the entrance area by the fans. She wants to know what happened at SummerSlam. AJ Styles hesitates to talk, but tells Young to hold on. He says SummerSlam didn’t end the way he wanted it to, but he doesn’t regret what he did to Samoa Joe. “I lost the match because of my actions. I’m not proud of that. Samoa Joe crossed a line.” He wants to make a promise to the WWE Universe and his family watching at home – the next time Joe mentions his family’s name, he’s going to rip his heart out.
Samoa Joe shows up at ringside and trips up Styles on the stage. Joe tackles Styles to the ground and applies his Coquina Clutch. Joe keeps it locked in and then lets Styles free. Joe grabs a mic and says, “Oh Wendy!” He grabs Styles and tells AJ’s family that “daddy has already gone night night.” Joe throws Styles to the ground and drops the mic.
We see a shot of Joe posing and then heading to the backstage area.

We get a reminder that Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag team match has been announced for WWE Hell in a Cell.

Backstage, Carmella is with Paige. Paige points out something missing, that being Carmella’s Smackdown Women’s Championship. Carmella is upset with how the title match went on Sunday at SummerSlam. R-Truth walks in and says he wants that title match and knows he only has to pin Carmella. Paige points out Truth can’t get title shots that way. Paige books Carmella’s rematch against Charlotte Flair for the title next week.
The New Day head to the ring. Corey Graves points out Big E did the introduction for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods tonight and then went right to the back.

The Bludgeon Brothers (c’s) vs. The New Day
The bell rings and here we go. No tags required in this one. Harper with an uppercut to Kofi on the outside. Rowan with a big knee to Woods on the outside. More uppercuts from Harper. Harper tries to suplex Kofi over the announce table, but Kofi counters landing on his feet and Woods launches Harper flying back with a dropkick. Rowan dumps Woods off the table into the barricade. Rowan dumps Kofi on the ground. Harper grabs one of the announce table chairs and launches it at Kofi at ringside!
-Commercial Break-
Back live, Woods drops Harper with a drop toe hold into the announce table. Kofi dumps Rowan over the top rope and then kicks him in the face off the ring apron. Kofi and Woods pull a ladder out from under the ring. Rowan pulls back both Kofi and Woods. Harper charges and connects with a suicide dive on New Day. Harper and Rowan toss steel chairs inside the ring. Rowan dumps Kofi over the announce table, while Harper launches Woods into the steel steps. Rowan and Harper drop forearms over Kofi on the ring apron. Rowan follows that up with a boot to the face. Rowan with a splash on Kofi, tosses Kofi at Harper and Harper levels Kofi with a big boot. Kofi kicks out of a pinfall attempt back inside the ring. Kofi with a tornado DDT on Harper over a steel chair! Rowan pulls Kofi out and levels him with a big boot to break up the pinfall. Woods misses a shot on Rowan and Rowan tackles him to the floor. New Day are down on the floor. Woods is dropped off the ring apron and tossed back in. Harper sets up two chairs. Harper and Rowan put a ladder over the two setup chairs. Kofi off the top rope. The Bludgeon Brothers catch him, brush off a shot and powerbomb Kofi over the ladder. Kofi kicks out! Harper can’t believe it. Rowan grabs a table from under the ring and slides it inside. Rowan with headbutts to Kofi against the steel post. Rowan grabs a mallet and charges at Kofi. Woods moves Kofi and Rowan crashes through the timekeepers barricade. Harper with a superkick to Woods. Kofi hits Harper with a mallet. Trouble in Paradise to Harper. Kofi dumps Harper over the table. Woods with a flying elbow over Harper through the table. New Day gets the win.
