The show kicks off with a tremendous video talking about the importance of Memorial Day for the United States of America. We go into the arena to hear a “USA” chant.
Braun Strowman kicks off Monday Night RAW
Braun Strowman’s music hits, and he comes out to a big reception from the Richmond crowd. Two Money in the Bank briefcases are shown hanging over the ring. Tonight we’ll see the birthday boy Seth Rollins take on Jinder Mahal with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line. We’ll also see a Last Chance Money in the Bank Qualifying Gauntlet Match with Sasha Banks, Sara Logan, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Mickie James, Bayley, and Dana Brooke all competing for another shot.
A “Get These Hands” chant fires up. Strowman looks up at the briefcases hanging above the ring. The crowd is loving him right now. Strowman says when he sees the briefcase, he gets motivated because he knows inside is a contract that guarantees him a Universal Title opportunity at any time in any arena in the entire world. Strowman pauses and another “Get These Hands” chant fires up. At Money in the Bank, he will destroy seven other men, climb to the top of the ladder, and take the briefcase and contract. Then he will not only be known as Mr. Money in the Bank, he’ll be known as Mr. Monster in the Bank. Who is gonna stop him? Not The Miz, not Bobby Roode, and after last week not Finn Balor. Not a single member of The New Day nor Rusev nor Kevin Owens. He’s taking that Money in the Bank briefcase and is cashing in the contract so Brock Lesnar can get these hands!
Finn Balor’s music hits, and he comes out to a decent reception. Balor says Strowman is getting ahead of himself because he’s the very first Universal Champion. Balor never lost the title, a fact that eats away at him every day. Balor is determined to get back to the top. Balor will climb one of the ladders and take back what is his. Balor gets in the ring and says they went one-on-one. Balor gave him everything he had. At Money in the Bank, there will be six other competitors in the ring with them, making it every man for himself. Strowman says Balor put up a really good fight for a little guy. Balor slaps him in the face, so Strowman powers him to the corner and throws him across the ring! Kurt Angle’s music hits, and the RAW General Manager comes out smiling and leading a “You suck” chant. Angle says he sees intensity out here, one of his favorite “I’s.” The Money in the Bank match will feature four superstars from RAW and four from Smackdown. The winner will face the champion of the respective brand. Balor gave everything he had last week, and it was a great match. Angle asks if Richmond wants to see that match again right now. They do. A referee runs down.
Not the greatest opener I've ever seen, but not the worst. After watching the Lashley's sisters segment last week, all in ring segments are amazing in comparison. Strowman is definitely over, Balor is definitely cringey on the mic. Now it's time for a rematch. #RAW

Strowman puts a foot on him to pin him and picks up a two count. Strowman whips him hard into the corner again and screams for him to stay down. Strowman gets him to his feet and clubs him down. Balor avoids a punch and dropkicks him before kicking him in the legs. Strowman soon blocks a kick and boots him down.

-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to see Balor sidestep an avalanche and chop away at him. Strowman knocks him back. Balor goes for a slingshot kick from the apron, but Strowman blocks it and swats him to ringside. Strowman goes outside and charges to give Balor a shoulder tackle over the barricade! Decent match, better than last week's I thought. Definitely was getting good before the DQ. The best part is Strowman didn't do that running into the turnbuckle shoulder-first spot he does in every match. Still went into the ring post, but differently. Baby steps. #RAW

Footage is shown of Jinder Mahal attacking Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins with a steel chair on last week’s RAW.
Seth Rollins will defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Jinder Mahal later tonight. We’ll also see a Last Chance Gauntlet Match in the main event.
Elias is backstage strumming his guitar. He’ll be out, next.
-Commercial Break-
Replays are shown of Braun Strowman throwing the ladder at Kevin Owens.
Kevin Owens is running backstage with his bag. Owens is trying to get into his car and yells at the valet to get his keys. Kurt Angle asks where he’s going. Owens says he wants to see the Memorial Day parade. Angle says he’s Canadian, therefore he doesn’t care. Owens needs to stay because he’s having a match against Bobby Roode. Owens angrily walks off.
Sasha Banks is shown on a handheld video promo. Banks says winning a Gauntlet Match takes luck, but you don’t need luck when you’re the boss.
Elias is in the ring, and he greets the crowd. Elias has one question for everyone here: Who wants to walk with Elias? Tonight’s song is very special to him. It’s one of the ones where he just picks up the guitar and all the words just came to him. It’ll require total concentration. Even though they’re in the South, he’s hoping they can catch up. Elias starts playing, but he stops. Normally the lighting is good, but the crowd in Richmond is particularly disgusting. Elias wants the lights brought in more, so they are. Elias then starts playing again, but soon stops. Elias wants the vocals brought up. More Elias, less crowd. Elias is pleased with the results and says he’s doing everyone’s jobs. Elias says he’s a Renaissance Man, not that anyone in Richmond knows what that is. Elias plays again, but he stops and wants complete silence. They loudly boo him. Elias tells them to shut their mouths. If they think he’s messing around, he’ll sit here all night until he can hear a pin drop. Elias just sits there.
If that Elias segment is any indication, they're going to do a ton of filler that means nothing tonight. The Elias thing was definitely entertaining, but there aren't a lot of performers on the roster that can do a lot with nothing. Could be the makings of a long night. #RAW

Seth Rollins can do no wrong right now. One of the best wrestlers going right now. It's like the old saying goes: "He can wrestle a broomstick and make it exciting." Mahal was the broomstick, and Rollins made it a good match. #RAW

-Commercial Break-
Replays are shown of the nasty bump Seth Rollins took after the guitar shot from Elias.
We go into the arena to see EMTs tending to Seth Rollins. Rollins has a neck brace on and is on a stretcher. Rollins asks them to give him a minute and let him breathe. Rollins then painfully sits up and gets to his feet before walking off with the help of Jamie Noble.
Nia Jax’ music hits, and the WWE RAW Women’s Champion makes her way to the ring to a lukewarm response. While Jax is walking down the ramp, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey’s music hits, and she comes out to a nice reception. Rousey smiles and waves at Jax before going over to the commentary table.
Jax grabs a microphone and says she’s glad Rousey is out here so she can show her exactly what she’ll do to her at Money in the Bank. Jax wants her opponent to demonstrate an arm bar. The unknown wrestler applies an arm bar, but Jax gets to her feet and lifts her with one arm before slamming her. Jax says the arm bar doesn’t mean much to her. That’s if Rousey can even apply it to her. Jax says this girl still has more in her. Corey Graves identifies her as Michelle Webb. Jax gives her a Samoan Drop. Jax says she could pin her like she’ll do to Rousey at Money in the Bank, but she’s not done yet. Jax then drops a leg. Jax says you can count to ten, twenty, or forty. She’s not getting up. Rousey has never faced anything like that in the UFC. Jax says her leg could literally crush a woman’s chest. You know what else could do that? Jax then hits a rolling senton on Webb.
Jax says this young girl needs some assistance, the same assistance Rousey will need at Money in the Bank. Jax challenges Rousey to come down to the ring. Rousey says she can’t be serious. Rousey gets up and walks down to the ring stone faced. Rousey gets in the ring and circles around. Jax mocks Rousey’s intense face. Jax says she’s not intimidated by Rousey. In fact, she finds it quite humorous. Jax laughs in Rousey’s face and says she’s cut. Jax drops the microphone and turns her back on Rousey before walking off. Rousey is standing in the ring looking confused.
There is no reason to have Ronda Rousey on television every week. They put her on commentary, seemingly to accentuate the weakness Rousey has on the microphone. Nia Jax isn't any better on the mic either. Rousey is a special attraction. Keep it that way. #RAW

Sami Zayn will issue a public apology, next.
-Commercial Break-
Sami Zayn issues a public apology
Sami Zayn comes out and says last week didn’t go as he hoped. Zayn went too far and WWE management has been gracious enough to let him give a formal, public apology. To the WWE Universe and the Lashley family, he conducted an interview with Lashley’s sisters that was described on social media as brutal and cringey. Zayn says he lied to the fans. Those were not Bobby Lashley’s real sisters. In fact… they were men that he hired just to have a little fun at Bobby Lashley’s expense. His goal was to entertain and not provoke. To the Lashley family, WWE management, and the WWE Universe… he is… sorry. It should be noted that everything he said was true. Like all good art, his expose on Bobby Lashley was rooted in reality. Zayn is such a brilliant artist that he doesn’t think the people of Richmond would get it. Zayn is exposing Lashley as a bully, yet he is catching flak. The people should feel sorry for Zayn and apologize to him because he deserves better. Zayn deserves to be in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Zayn should not have to issue an apology in front of a repulsive crowd like the one in Richmond, Virginia.
Bobby Lashley’s music hits, and he comes out to almost no reaction. Lashley high fives some fans and is smiling. Lashley says Memorial Day is a special day for families like his. For anyone that has family members that served in the military, he salutes and thanks them. A “USA” chant picks up. Lashley says his sisters, the ones he never contacted, thinks he’s quite entertaining. It was fun last week, but it gets old really fast. They should just settle their issue like men in the ring. Lashley challenges him to a match at Money in the Bank, a challenge that is met with barely any reaction. Lashley wants him to back up the trash talk. Zayn eventually shakes his hand and accepts the challenge. Zayn says he’ll Helluva Kick the stupid smile off his face. Lashley doesn’t let go of the handshake. Lashley then squeezes Zayn’s hand. Lashley has an apology of his own: he apologizes for everything he’ll do to Zayn at Money in the Bank. Lashley then releases the handshake.
Damn that was another bad segment. Neither guy got any reaction. I've never been a big Bobby Lashley fan, but he's better than how they're booking him. Lashley is the one big guy that Vince McMahon has no idea of how to book. Go figure. Career damaging feud. #RAW

The B-Team’s Memorial Day Tag Team BBQ
The B-Team is in the ring with The Ascension, The Revival, Titus Worldwide, Breezango, and Heath Slater and Rhyno. They put over the spread of food they have there and tell them to dig in. Curtis Axel says since they’re undefeated, they want their blessing to face Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy for the RAW Tag Team Championships. Titus O’Neil asks if they really brought them out to this bootleg BBQ to skip to the front of the line. Heath Slater says in West Virginia this would be like Thanksgiving. Slater says even though this is a great spread, they will not be cutting any lines to get to the RAW Tag Team Titles. Axel confirms that they don’t have the blessing of the tag teams and takes their food back. O’Neil pours baked beans over Bo Dallas’ head. Breezango then puts potato salad on Axel’s head. A food fight then breaks out while Rhyno just sits there eating baloney sandwiches. The fight spills outside the ring. The B-Team then returns to the ring and slams Rhyno through a table.

Winner of the Gauntlet Match: Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks joins Natalya, Charlotte Flair, Ember Moon, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Lana in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Bringing Sasha Banks up as a face continues to be a big mistake. Banks just doesn't have it as a face whatsoever. The reaction for her was pretty poor. Then again, the crowd wasn't into this match much at all. That's a result of them realizing this show meant nothing. #RAW
