Two days after being attacked by The Shield on SuperSmackDown LIVE, Sin Cara tweeted Thursday that he will undergo surgery. The masked Superstar offered no specifics on the procedure or the extent of his injury, though it was previously reported The Shield’s ambush caused a right knee injury that was described as “serious.”
“Thanks for all your support,” @TheSinCaraWWE tweeted. “On my road to the hospital for a mini surgery. See you later guys.”
Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns attacked Sin Cara following his match against Damien Sandow. As Ambrose and Reigns restrained the luchador still, Rollins came off the top rope with a knee drop onto Sin Cara’s outstretched right leg. That same night, The Shield assaulted Sin Cara’s tag team partner, Rey Mysterio. According to reports, Mysterio sustained a “severe” neck injury.
