During the UFC 226 post-fight press conference on Saturday night in Las Vegas, newly crowned UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier made things very clear: Brock Lesnar needs to be clean and fully tested by USADA over the next six months.
Lesnar, the current WWE Universal Champion, has reportedly (and quietly) re-entered the USADA testing pool according to UFC President Dana White and will begin the testing process over the next six months following his suspension from back in 2016.
Cormier has advocated for even further testing beyond USADA.
“Brock’s gotta be clean, man. I’m not gonna fight him if he’s not clean. We’ll do USADA testing and we’ll do other testing. We’ll do testing above USADA to make sure this man is clean. I’m not fighting him if he’s cheating, I’ve done that on a number of different occasions already. I don’t want to fight him if he’s dirty, man. Do it the right way.”
If you missed it over the weekend, Lesnar showed up at UFC 226 after Cormier defeated Stipe Miocic in the first round via knockout. Cormier, who is now a dual UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion, invited Lesnar inside the ring to hype a fight.
UFC President Dana White confirmed later that night that Cormier would indeed be defending the UFC Heavyweight Championship next against Lesnar. When that fight will take place remains to be seen based on the current testing process with Lesnar.
