Report by: Josh Boutwell of Wrestleview.com
The final edition of Impact Wrestling in the UK opens up with highlights from the past few weeks. Todd Keneley & Mike Tenay hype up the card for tonight and then Hulk Hogan’s music hits.
The TNA GM makes his way down to the ring and he says this feels like home for him tonight and he says that he had some tough choices to make while he was in the ring last time about the #1 contender, but things didn’t exactly pan out the way he thought they would when Aces & Eights interrupted. He says that out of everything really bad comes something really good and that gave him a whole week for him to think about all of the guys that poured their hearts out in the ring to try and get the Title shot. He says that after one long week thinking about it he decided that man stood out above everyone else and he rose to the occasion and made it clear he is the only man for the job. Hogan introduces the new #1 contender: Bully Ray!
Ray makes his way down to the ring looking confused as Taz complains about him being named #1 contender despite not wrestling last week. Ray acts like he’s at a loss for words and he asks Hogan if he knows he’s hurt right now and that he partially tore his quad muscle. Hogan calls Ray the toughest “S.O.B.” in TNA and Ray says he doesn’t know what to say except thank you. He says that there were so many other guys that wrestled last week that deserve this shot more than him, but all he ever wanted to do was make Hulk proud. He says all he ever wanted was his respect and the greatest day of his life was when he married Hulk’s daughter. He says he wants to make her happy and Hulk happy but he also wants to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Ray says they have bigger problems to take care of right now and he knows that Hogan is the GM so he suggests tonight in the Main Event Ray, Sting, & Hulk himself face Aces & Eights! Hogan agrees and makes the match!
In the back Austin Aries & Bobby Roode bitch about Hernandez & Chavo mocking them last week, and causing them to both get counted out. Bad Influence then walks up and asks what the matter with them is and congratulates them on winning the Tag Team Titles. Daniels says Bad Influence has had nothing but problems with Chavo & Hernandez cheating them, and they were going to overcome it but they’re glad to see Roode & Aries do it first. Daniels shakes Aries’ hand and then says they have a big 8-Man Tag Match tonight and if Roode & Aries just follow their lead everything will be fine. As Daniels & Kaz walk away Kaz flashes the Fortune symbol to Roode asks him if he remembers that to which Bobby laughs and says he does. Aries and Roode laugh about following their lead and then argue over whether Aries or Roode is going to lead. Aries says it doesn’t matter as long as Bad Influence follows their lead and Roode says “I know that’s what I said” while Aries responds with “I said it first.”
