The second will be War of the Worlds on Saturday, May 17th at the SOLD OUT Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. – Limited tickets are still available for GLOBAL WARS in Toronto! Fans are traveling from all over the world for the chance to see NJPW vs. ROH live. Huge matches are in the final stages of negotiation and you can see it all on May 10th! Get your tickets HERE before they sell out!
– At Supercard of Honor VIII on April 4th, current ROH World Champion Adam Cole will battle “Real” World Champion Jay Briscoe in a LADDER WAR. The winner of this match will be declared the true ROH World Champion, restoring the lineage of the title and ending the dispute over who is the “real” World Champion truly is. But whoever wins Ladder War V WILL defend his title in Toronto on May 10th at “Global Wars!” And the challenger is……”Mr. Wrestling” KEVIN STEEN! Since losing the ROH World Championship to Jay Briscoe himself at “Supercard of Honor VII,” Kevin Steen has not received a championship rematch in nearly a full year. Due in part to his involvement with S.C.U.M., matchmaker Nigel McGuinness never trusted Kevin Steen to get a rematch until he defended ROH and ridded the company of S.C.U.M. in Steel Cage Warfare. Following his contributions in that match, Nigel granted Steen a title match at “The Golden Dream” in Cincinnati, Ohio. However, due to injuries suffered in the “Champions vs. All-Stars” match, Adam Cole suffered a concussion and was not able to compete in that match but a few weeks ago at “State of the Art” in San Antonio, Kevin Steen won a #1 contender 4 corner survival match against Jay Lethal, Michael Elgin, and Tommaso Ciampa. After a year of championship frustration, Steen will finally get his shot in the Main Event at “Global Wars!” Also note that Toronto and The Ted Reeve have always been a good luck charm for Kevin Steen plus “Global Wars” will mark almost the two year anniversary since Kevin Steen defeated Davey Richards at “Border Wars” 2012 to become the ROH World Champion!
– This weekend on ROH TV the main event will feature the Briscoe’s against Adam Cole and Michael Bennett! The FUTURE OF HONOR is an affordable event that is completely family friendly. Expect 8 big matches consisting exclusively of ROH seminar/try-out students, ROH Dojo graduates, as well as ROH Wrestlers Jay Lethal, The Briscoes, ROH World Champion Adam Cole and Delirious! – Adam Page will be in the corner of The Decade this Saturday in Dayton. The Decade perceive the young wrestlers in ROH as disrespectful and say that there is a lost tradition of locker room ethics that no longer exists and Adam Page has stepped up to earn respect the right way and the traditional way. This weekend The Decade will battle Adrenaline RUSH and Caprice Coleman. Adrenaline RUSH are a big target for Decade while Coleman is standing up for the youngsters and does not agree with The Decade’s agenda.
– Speaking of The Decade, the biggest target recently has been Cedric Alexander. The Decade, specifically Roderick Strong, seem to have it out for Cedric in a bad way. Cedric and Strong will officially do battle in New Orleans on April 4th announced HERE but this weekend Cedric will face “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin. Alexander continues to prove that he can hang with anybody in ROH but has yet to get that “big win” that could take him up another level. This Saturday Cedric has an opportunity to make a huge statement against Elgin. Expect this match to possibly steal the show!
– #TheNewStreak continues! Also, according to sources, RD Evans has been pressured by Veda Scott and associates to not compete in Crimea on the originally booked date of April 27th.
– Outlaw Inc.’s attempt to recruit Kevin Steen last weekend on ROH TV backfired and after a hard-hitting match with Homicide resulted in a DQ, Cliff Compton made an unexpected save. Apparently Cliff was taken out by Outlaw Inc. in the parking lot in an effort by Kingston & Homicide to get on Steen’s good side. There are talks of putting these men all in the ring together on April 19th in Baltimore.
– Current ROH World TV Champion Tommaso Ciampa’s first match back in ROH after successfully defending the TV Title overseas on a European Tour is THIS Saturday at FLYIN HIGH. His opponent in Dayton is the man he defeated to become TV Champion in the first place… Matt Taven. Before losing the title, Taven was the longest reigning TV Title holder in ROH history. Now he has the opportunity to make history again and become a 2 time champion when he gets his rematch against Ciampa in Dayton! Unlike at Final Battle, this time Taven says that he is ready. However, Taven continues to be haunted by Truth Martini who says that he WILL be at FLYIN HIGH this Saturday.
