There are several news items to report on from Thursday’s “iMPACT!” as TNA Wrestling heads towards the February 11 “Against All Odds” Pay-Per-View epic event featuring Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle for the NWA World Heavyweight Title!
WILL STING FINALLY REVEAL THE SECRET ABOUT ABYSS?
On Thursday’s broadcast, Sting abducted manager James Mitchell and took him to the prison that Abyss once called home. It was a new, much more intense Sting the world witnessed on “iMPACT!”, as he brutalized Mitchell throughout his mission. The icon demanded from Mitchell that he reveal the truth about the monster, but the manager refused to do so. Later in the broadcast, Sting returned to the arena to confront Abyss in the ring. The former World Champion once again attempted to get Abyss to reveal his past, but it was of no use. As “iMPACT!” went off the air, Sting promised the world he was returning to the prison to get the truth – and he would reveal the story this Wednesday night! After hearing this, Abyss dropped to his knees in the ring and began to yell “NO! NO!” as he realized the truth may soon be revealed!
WHO IS THE “CONSULTANT” ADVISING CHRISTIAN CAGE?
Also on Thursday’s broadcast, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage revealed that he has hired a consultant to advise him for his upcoming match versus Kurt Angle at the “Against All Odds” Pay-Per-View. According to Cage, this consultant is someone who knows Angle well and will give Cage the edge going into the main event at the February 11 Pay-Per-View. However, Cage refused to reveal the consultant’s identity to the Olympic gold medalist, claiming he would have to figure it out on his own! Later in the night after the AJ Styles vs. Angle bout, Samoa Joe hit the ring with a steel chair to clean house and came face-to-face with Angle. Is Joe the “consultant” Cage is referring to? Tune into “iMPACT!” next Thursday night to find out!
OTHER MAJOR NEWS ITEMS FROM “IMPACT!”:
- The Latin American Xchange retained the NWA World Tag Team Title against Team 3D after interference by Spanish commentator and LAX supporter Moody Jack Melendez. The bout also saw Brother Runt of Team 3D almost ruin the title chances once again for his brothers.
- Chicago White Sox star AJ Pierzynski along with Dale Torborg attacked Lance Hoyt on the broadcast, smashing him with a steel chair during his match against “Cowboy” James Storm. The beating allowed Storm to get the win over Hoyt! Following the bout, Gail Kim hit the ring to help Hoyt, but the tandem of Storm and his new valet Ms. Tennessee were too much for the both of them.
- Also on “iMPACT!”, TNA Knockout Christy Hemme spoke out in a sitdown interview about her actions at the Final Resolution Pay-Per-View as well as her views on women in wrestling. However, she was interrupted by the Voodoo Kin Mafia’s Kip James, who once again got into a confrontation with the beauty before BG James stepped in.
