Report by: Ryan Droste (Droste@wrestleview.com) of WrestleView.com
-Highlights are shown from last week's Impact.
-Jeremy Borash is backstage in front of Cornette's office. He talks about Christian vs. Scott Steiner at Hard Justice. Eric Young is camped out, tent and all, in front of Cornette's office. He's ready for his meeting with Cornette, and he debates on what tie to wear with Borash.
-The Impact opening airs.
-Rhino comes to the ring for a promo. He talks about his match with Monty Brown and Samoa Joe at Hard Justice in a falls count anywhere match. He walks over to the announce position and says he can bring Monty Brown over there if he wants and piledrive him through the table. He then walks to the Spanish announce table, and says he can Gore Samoa Joe right there and pin him in "little Mexico." He says he can even go right into the people. He goes into the crowd. He asks the people if they want him to bring his opponents there. He walks to the back now, but Monty Brown blindsides him. He throws him face first into the wall and into the steel rail. Brown gets on the mic. He says, "Falls count anywhere, it looks like Rhino has fallen." Brown says he's going to show everyone why he's the Alpha Male and at the top of the food chain. He gets ready to say the only finisher you will see at the PPV is the Pounce, but Samoa Joe's theme interupts him. Joe comes to the ring and immediately begins a brawl with Brown. Joe gets the best of it and puts on the choke briefly. Rhino then runs in the ring and all three men brawl shortly. Security then runs out to break up things.
-Tenay and West talk at the announce position. They build up tonight's show, specifically the Christian Cage vs. Scott Steiner main event. Tenay says tonight throughout the broadcast, we will relive the rivalry between Jarrett and Sting. Time for segment number one of that.
-They show old pictures of Sting during his WCW days, mostly promo style pictures. A flashback is shown from Final Resolution and Sting's "retirement" on Impact after that. The piece goes on to say that somebody wasn't satisfied with this, and then the screen reads "to be continued..."
Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt defeated Kevin Nash, Alex Shelley & Johnny Devine
During the entrances for this match, Brother Runt was shown at the top of the Impact Zone holding a sign that said "Come Get Me Abyss." They go to a commercial about 2 minutes into the match (once again, it's mind boggling why they didn't do the commercial before the match started, but what the hell). Runt is again shown after the commercial, this time in the rafters with a sign that says "Hard Justice Tonight!" The finish came when Sabin was left alone with Devine in the ring. He nailed the Cradle Shock for the pinfall. A slightly above average TV tag match.
-The second segment of the Jarrett vs. Sting videos air. This time, they focus on the "Paparazi Productions" videos where Jarrett sent Shelley to follow Sting around. They show when Sting returned at Destination X.
--COMMERCIAL BREAK--
-Borash is backstage with Young. Larry Z comes and interupts them. He announces Jay Lethal has been added to the X Division Title match at Hard Justice. Cornette comes out of the office and asks Larry if he added Lethal to the match like he asked. Cornette says he and Eric are going to have a meeting tonight, talking about his future in TNA. He tells Borash to keep the cameras around and then stares at Larry's wig as he walks off. Slick Johnson comes into the scene. He says he has a question for Larry, "Toupee or not toupee, that is the question."
Hernandez w/ Konnan defeated NWA Tag Champ Christopher Daniels
Konnan worked over Daniels on the outside and tossed Daniels back in mid-way through. Brother Runt was again shown in the crowd with his "Hard Justice Tonight!" sign. Daniels locked on the Koji Clutch and looked to have it won as Homicide tapped, but Konnan destracted the ref. Hernandez came in the ring and nailed the "Cracker Jack" slam on Daniels. Homicide then made the cover for the pinfall.
-After the match, LAX worked over Daniels. AJ Styles then ran out with his neckbrace on and a steel chair. He cleaned house with the chair and then ripped off his neckbrace.
-Jarrett vs. Sting, segment 3, airs. This video features highlights from Lockdown and Sacrifice.
--COMMERCIAL BREAK--
Abyss defeated Shark Boy
Short squash match ending in the Black Hole Slam.
-James Mitchell gets on the mic after the match. He says he bets Runt thinks he's really funny. He then asks him if he will find this funny. Abyss comes up the ramp, and Runt jumps off the large TNA logo over the entrance on to Abyss. Really crazy looking spot. Runt gets on Abyss' back and holds a sleeper as Abyss walks towards the ring. Abyss tosses him off his back into the ring. Abyss gets Runt up in a press slam, but Runt slips out and nails his bulldog out of the corner on Abyss. Raven is shown looking on from the top of the ramp.
-Jarrett vs. Sting, segment 4, airs. Highlights are shown from the King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary.
--COMMERCIAL BREAK--
-Borash is outside Cornette's office with Cornette and Young. He says its time to get to it. Young wants to start things off on the right track. He gets out a bag of Wendy's and whiskey for him. He also gets out a bottle of Bourbon. He then gets out a tennis racket with a cover that has "JC" in jewels on it as well as red fringe around the outside. Cornette bashes Young's gifts. He says he's sick of tennis rackets. He says he has a plan for Young's future. He says the paparazi guys are starting to tick him off, so he is going to add a match at Hard Justice. Young vs. Devine. He tells Young he better not lose.
Christian Cage and Scott Steiner wrestled to a no contest
Jim Cornette joined Tenay and West on commentary for the match. They went to a commercial 3 minutes into the match. Near the end of the match, Steiner gave Christian a slam off the top rope. He then locked on the Steiner Recliner. Christian broke the hold by biting his hand. Jarrett then ran out for the DQ.
-Steiner and Jarrett work over Christian after the match. Jarrett locks on the Scorpion Death Lock on Christian. The lights go out. When they come on, Sting has the Scorpion Death Lock on Jarrett. He cleans house. Sting and Christian shake hands after the match. Christian hands the NWA World Title to Sting and raises his hand.
-A video package hyping up the matches at Hard Justice airs.
