Kevin Steen vs. El Generico
IWS Violent Valentine – February 16th, 2008
The International Wrestling Syndicate is entering a new era – the Kevin Steen Era. This is the second time that Kevin Steen has worn the IWS belt and his mantra that he keeps repeating is that this time he is going to do it right.
His first run with the title came too easily; this title reign means more because it was harder to get. Both times, Kevin Steen had to fight twice in one night to win the title. But in 2004, Kevin beat his long-time rival EXesS to earn a title shot and then after resting in the back, surprised everyone by cashing in his shot against an exhausted El Generico who had just beaten Pierre Carl Ouellet to win the IWS title… for about five minutes.
In 2008, Kevin Steen had to beat three other men, Max Boyer, Franky the Mobster and Sylvain Grenier. Immediately after pinning Franky the Mobster, an exhausted Kevin Steen had to fight a rested and ready IWS Champion PCP Crazy F’N Manny.
So this title reign means more; means more because it was harder; means more because Kevin was able to win the title by getting revenge on Manny by beating him half to death; means more because this time Kevin Steen gets to do it right.
The first step to doing it right: making it up to El Generico for stealing the IWS title in 2004 by giving him the first shot at Kevin’s belt in 2008. For the first time in more than four years the two best wrestlers in Quebec will fight with the biggest prize in Quebec at stake.

Detailed Violent Valentine Preview
The biggest question rising out of Praise the Violence 2008 is: Whither Manny? No one has seen hide nor hair of him since he lost his precious title. The biggest question, but not the only one…
Also rising out of the events of Praise the Violence 2008, Franky the Mobster is looking to redeem himself from getting pinned by his friend Kevin Steen by taking out the IWS Canadian Champion, Max Boyer and taking his belt. Both men clashed physically in the four-way at the Medley and there is no love lost between the two men. Max and Franky clashed backstage after their match at the Medley with both men blaming each other for Kevin Steen's victory.
Despite being unable to win the tag team titles at Praise the Violence, the Untouchables have laid a claim at another shot at the Super Smash Brothers because it was Cloudy of Up in Smoke that was pinned and not Jimmy Stone or Dan Paysan.
A recent conversation that I had with Uno:
Llakor: You’re training for the Untouchables by doing what now?
Uno: I have been playing a lot of Punch Out and knocking Don Flamenco on his ass repeatedly.
Llakor: Uno? How does that help? Don Flamenco is from Spain, not Italy.
Uno: You mean that I have been getting ready to fight Don Paysan and Jimmy Stone by beating up a FAKE Italian? How could that possibly be useful to me?
As previously announced, Damian will be having his last match at Violent Valentine against a man that he considers the most underrated wrestler in Canada: Kenny the Bastard. It was uncertain that Kenny would be able to wrestle in this match after Beef Wellington temporarily blinded Kenny when he tried to gouge his eyes out at the Medley, but Kenny’s eyesight has fully recovered.
During the Gauntlet match at the Medley, Samson and Shayne Hawke struck an alliance of convenience, an alliance that was betrayed by Samson who destroyed Shane Hawke by ambush. The resulting match will pit two of the biggest egos in the IWS in a match that would seem to favour the strong man Samson. On the other hand, while Shayne Hawke may lack the physicality of Samson, the two muscles of Shayne that are stronger than Samson’s are Shayne’s mouth… and Shayne’s brain.
Not a big fan of Samson, but I will be rooting for him to rip “Le Maudit Roux" limb from limb.
After very nearly winning a title shot at the IWS title in that Gauntlet match, a grouchy EXesS has revived his open EXesS challenge and he will be looking to work out his frustrations by twisting the dumb bastard who answers the challenge like a pretzel.
The Green Phantom and “Paranoid" Jake Matthews clashed like two bulls in a china shop at the Medley leading to both men being counted out during the Gauntlet match. Things don’t look to get much easier when the IWS returns to Bogey’s as both men find themselves in a tag match where they have unresolved issues with their partners. Suffice it to say that Jake Matthews’ wife and manager Lollipop considers Eddy’s porn star valet Hottie Hollie to be a total skank and a cancer in the locker room. On the other side of the ring, Lufisto was originally scheduled to team with the Green Phantom, but she is still recovering from a concussion given to her by a blistering chair shot given to her by Eddy at the Medley after she pinned him. In her place, Kid Kamikaze and if you ever seen Double K without his shirt on, he has a scar on his back that looks like a bullet wound – a scar that he received courtesy of the Green Phantom.
Note to me: insert contractually obligated plug for Hottie Hollie’s totally NSFW web-site www.hottiehollie.com or Eddy will kick my ass.
Also at Bogey’s, Beef, Twiggy, and the Sultans of Smirk, 2.0 (Jagged and Shane Matthews) will all be in action.
