TNA announces 3 matches for Bound for Glory, Waltman's status & more
On Friday, September 23, 2005 at 1:53 PM EST TNAwrestling.com confirmed three new matches for the upcoming Bound for Glory PPV event on October 23rd. As heavily documented before, this will be an annual event for TNA and will be treated as their biggest show of the year, or TNA's own WrestleMania-like event. Here are the matches that have been added so far:
X Division Championship - 30 Minute Ironman Match
(The person who scores the most falls in 30 minutes wins the match)
- AJ Styles (c) vs. Christopher Daniels.
Ultimate X Match - Winner Becomes #1 Contender for X Title
(The person who pulls down the hanging "X" wins)
- Chris Sabin vs. Matt Bently vs. Petey Williams.
- Samoa Joe vs. Jushin "Thunder" Liger.
Here is the latest regarding Sean Waltman's current status with TNA. Waltman has spoken with Terry Taylor about a return to the company, but after no-showing the Unbreakable PPV event on September 11th, the company has no interest in bringing Waltman back at this time. Plans can always change though and Waltman could be used at the September 27th TV tapings for the first two Impact! episodes on Spike TV. Speaking of that taping, barring any late surprises that TNA can sign, those "new talent" confirmed for the taping include the former Dudley Boys (who may now be called Ray & Devon), Kevin Nash, Gail Kim and Tito Ortiz. TNA will focus on the core talent they already carry as well.
